Fine facing mill
I have had this for a couple of years now, I use it primarily for facing my aluminum castings. If you have a small mill and have already replaced all the plastic gears with metal you should have no problems, otherwise this item is a bit large for smaller mills and a shock or interruption in the cutting path may break said plastic gears. Other than that, the cut quality satisfies, and in the two or so years I have had it, I have only had to rotate the inserts once.

One of my best mill tooling purchases
I bought this way back in Aug '22 and am only now getting around to reviewing it. I've used it almost daily through all this time and it's never let me down. I've replaced the TPG322 inserts only once in the (almost) year and a half of frequent use. It works great, can cut reasonably deeply (better with coolant), and leaves quite a nice finish on my steel parts. I'm using a PM-30MV mill and typically run this face mill at 900-1200 RPM for 1018 mild steel, depending on the depth of cut. Of course it doesn't leave a mirror finish as a fly cutter would, but it gets the job done a lot faster and the finish is plenty good enough for pretty much everything I need it for. Recommended.

I'm really happy with this purchase!!!
This 3" fly cutter is a great tool and upgrade for my little mill drill!! After using it on this first aluminum project, I ordered the replacement carbide inserts, because it's a keeper, and I will use it many times in the future!!!
