Best Little Tool Ever!!!
I just bought a home and one of the outside floodlights had a bulb so broken and rusted in place it looked like it had been installed during the Eisenhower administration. Pliers? Useless. The famous โpotato trickโ? The bulb apparently liked the potato, because it only tightened its grip like it was preparing for the apocalypse. I was one YouTube video away from buying an entirely new light fixture when I stumbled across this little gadget. Friends, let me tell youโthis tool is like Excalibur for broken light bulbs. I slipped it in, gave a twist, and heard the rust begin to whimper! That bulb surrendered in seconds like it had been waiting all these years for the right hero to show up. Will I ever need it again? Hopefully not. But just knowing I have it in my toolbox feels like owning a fire extinguisher or a lightsaberโyou donโt need it often, but when you do, nothing else will do.

Works great
Only base was in socket and it got it loose and then it was easy to remove.

Works perfectly
I tried a bunch of different solutions to remove an old rusted out light bulb, nothing worked. I was super skeptical, but I thought I would give this thing a try. It worked perfectly. It took me 5 seconds to remove a light bulb that broke off and hadn't worked since we moved into our house. I don't get how it works so well, but it works.

Worked like a charm for high ceiling broken bulb extraction
Opened the package, mounted it to a pole and successfully extracted a broken bulb in under 5 minutes. I used this atop an 8 ft. extension pole to extract the remains of a broken BR40 flood light from a 14 ft. ceiling can light socket. While this was an easy bulb remnant to deal with (no broken glass - the glass bulb had simply detached from its metal base), it seems like this was just the right tool for the right price (~$8). The best part was it saved me from getting on a tall ladder in the middle of the living room to attempt this extraction. One of the other reviews mentioned to try wiggling the tool back in forth in the socket as you apply light upwards pressure and turn... I did that & it worked like a charm. I like that the extractor has a cutout in the middle to slip over broken filaments. I also like that one piece of the extractor fits over the other, which makes for convenient storage. The extractor's rubber feels fairly sturdy to me - sturdy enough to get adequate pressure on a broken bulb base. When you combine this with a good light changing kit (I bought: STAUBER Best Bulb Changer - Large, ~$13) and extension pole (I bought: Mr Longarm 9248 Twist-Lok Extension Pole, ~$13), you'll very likely never need to climb a ladder again to change a light or deal with a broken bulb (all for less than $40).

It works
In my case the light bulb base was lodged in and all pressure and twisting ultimately destroyed this product. However, it did eventually manage to remove the bulb base and it was very high up and I did all this standing on a ladder. Canโt give it less than 4 stars because it worked. Mission accomplished.
