Tough and Smooth
Tough fishing reel , it is heavy but smooth reeling. Some are complaining of no reverse switch but the advantage of it is water proofing, unlike reels with reverse switch it is an easy access for water and dirt.

Very solidly built
Very solid build...no comparison to lower cost brands like kast king. Eg central main gear rod twice as thick as kast king.On the other hand, makes for a heavy reel.If you are not casting all day, eg surf or carp fishing...nice reel.

Very good reel, caught a bunch of fish off of my boat here in Hawaii. Some big fish too. Love this reel. Quickly shipped, priced well, great value. Happy with this purchase!!

The 4000 is a good reel , but too small for saltwater
Bought this reel for fishing in cuba , reel worked well but didn't hold enough braid for what I was fishing for should have bought the 8000 .

Penn reels rock
I've been a Penn fan since I can remember.. I've used it for charter fishing I've used it for lake,ponds an I'm a big STEELHEAD FISHING FREAK!!! So I definitely want a Penn while I'm fishing...
