BOOTS Botanics Organic Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm

Love this balm. I got this because I'd been hearing good things about the Colleen Rothchild balm, but the pricepoint is so high. I was still fascinated by the concept of balm for face cleaning and found this. It smells lovely, and does totally take off your makeup and any other grime on your face. It leaves my face so soft. My only gripe is that the consistency is a bit gritty. It is wax grit, though, so just hold it between your fingers, or press into your face, and it will melt.

I really loved this cleanser. It smells wonderful and makes my skin feel great and not dried out like many other cleansers. It feels kind of luxurious because of the texture and the smell. The cleaning process does take some time, but is worth it. After a rough breakout which first prompted me to buy this cleanser, it was the first product I tried that really made the acne much smaller and less noticeable and after less than a week they were gone.

Nice product. Nice smelling. It's kind of like washing your face with coconut oil...but I like it.

I was looking for something similar to Clinque's 'Take the Day Off' cleansing balm, but with a lower price.....this is not it. It has too many oils or something in it, very strong, almost menthol-ish smell to it. It does take my makeup off, but not as easily, and not as thoroughly as the Clinique balm does. Plus I break out if I don't make sure I get it all off, which would be easier if it wasn't so greasy. Also, sometimes I can go without using a toner/astringent after cleansing, but not when I use the Boots balm. I think this is more for washing your face in the morning, simply to clean your pores...which I suppose it what it's truly meant for. It's not a bad product, it's just not what I was looking for, so I recommend people should try it for deep pore cleansing....at such a good price it's worth a try.

I cleanse with cold cream, or coconut oil or even a cleansing oil. I was excited to try this. It was awful. Did not remove any makeup. Was very disappointed. The best part of cleansing with an oil or emulsion is watching the eye makeup melt off. No matter how much I warmed this in my hands - it wasn't melty at all. Returning it.

This product just was not good for my skin. I have dry skin, not prone to acne of clogged pores.This product is pretty heavy and it did not emulsify well in water. I had a really hard time washing it off my face, even with double cleansing. It just clogged my pores and gave me a few whiteheads. I ended up throwing it out since I had such bad luck with it and didn't want my friend's to risk the same fate by giving it to one of them.

A lovely, moisturizing balm. I use this primarily for a facial massage routine and it works wonderfully. It leaves my dry, dull skin feeling fresh and brightened. I've been using this mostly in the winter and it is excellent for restoring moisture to the skin. I don't know if I would recommend it for daily use on oily skin; if you do have oily skin, you might just want to make sure to wipe it off thoroughly at the end. I find this works best at night, when it has some time to sink into the skin; the use of a warm cloth (I just use a wash cloth as opposed to the muslin provided) after makes for a lovely mini-spa treatment.I do not use this primarily as a cleanser; I generally use a micellar water or just a very gentle cleanser before applying this to get my make up off. But I think it would also be effective if you wanted to use this as your primary facial make up remover.

This stuff is amazing. I don’t think the people writing bad reviews are using it correctly. It’s a balm, not a wash. It melts your makeup off your skin. You must then use the cloth with hot water and rub the balm off of your skin. Follow the directions and this is a phenomenal product!!! My face is usually DRY. I would give this 6 stars if i could!!!
