Great gloves, but expect some irritation if used on a bag
Summary: They look and feel great, and perform as advertised. Shipping was quick and on time. Would buy again or recommend to a friend - with some items to note below.Pros:They provide ample padding for my first knuckles when used on a heavy bag. No need for full gloves. The wrist support is nice and firm, keeps things tight.I got the yellow pair and the colour is sharp, makes it easier for me to watch and analyze my strikes.Cons:While the padding is sufficient on my first knuckles when used on a heavy bag, I have experienced some irritation on my second knuckles. This is due to the stitching rubbing on the flexed skin during strikes. This is not necessarily a fault, some exposure is to be expected from open finger design, however the irritation still exists.I have also experienced some irritation / bruising on the webbing between my little and ring fingers, interestingly, on both hands. This is due to the material pulling and rubbing on the skin during strikes. I am not sure why this is occuring, likey I can just adjust the way I wrap and make sure I get some material in that area.Other notes (neutral):While the padding is good and absorbs some of the impact, and the wrist support is firm, it does not replace a good hand wrap. Please wrap up properly for sparring and especially for training on a heavy bag.The open thumb design did not affect my performance in any way - it did not help nor did it cause any issues.I like the claw design on the gloves but I wish they had one without the blood... maybe I am just getting old lol ;)

Woman in her 50's, new to gym
I recently joined an exercise class. I'm healthy but not fit so I do not have the muscle or strength to warrant such padded gloves for our Friday "kick boxing" exercises but I was not willing to spend 10 bucks more for girlie gel gloves. I received these in 2 days and brought them to class last night in my gym back. They had us do a mixed bag of exercises which included using the stand up punching bags. I sheepishly put on the gloves to try them out. Most of the women have stretchy fingerless gloves with a long ace bandage type piece that wrap around the wrist with brightly colored accents and a thin gel pad that runs over the knuckles. I have never tried those though for what we do it looks like more than enough...in fact I assumed that even using knit fingerless winter gloves from the dollar store would suffice in protecting my knuckles from my girlie punches. I'm about 5'6" full size but I do not have big hands (ring size 6.5 to 7.5?). The gloves are slightly bulky and stiff and once I get my hand past the elastic band at the base they are quite roomy. Four fingers slip easily into the finger holes and the thumb is free. I have put the same glove on both my left and right hand because of this and I'm not 100% sure which is which. Since I'm right handed and would wear down that glove first (hahaha..yeah) ...just saying I could swap them out. I have fairly small wrists for my build so the velcro strap that just goes from one side to the other doesn't really grip my wrist much but it's not uncomfortable. ..in fact none of it is...which is important to me. So I have on these beefy gloves and start to punch the bag and it was so much fun! I feel nothing on my hand so I went to town on that bag, especially when the music was just right. I worked up a great sweat that i could feel into my core. I could hit that bag as hard as my might without any reservations and it was a fun workout. I'm not sure if the gel padded ones are also that way...if so then I guess they are better for looks and maybe being able to keep them on while doing other exercises...these would interfere with that. But at being less then half the price as those gloves I'm very happy with my purchase. Also my son and husband tried them on and liked them too so I guess they can get used when I'm done with them. On a side note, the skeleton design is clearly printed on one glove and barely visible on the other but I was not going to take a star away for that (though my son would), and I can't comment on durability yet but there isn't anything leading me to think they won't last. As far as the one size, if your hands are small the roominess is fine, and seems fine for avg man hands but not for XL men.
