Mousetronaut: Based on a (Partially) True Story (The Mousetronaut Series)

I bought this quite a while ago. It is a cute story with nice illustrations.

I bought this for a family of three boys, ages 3, 5, and 7. Although normally the 7 year old, who is an advanced reader, will not sit and listen to bed time books for the younger boys, this book is a rare exception- it has all 3 kids captivated, time and time again. The younger ones especially enjoy the countdown to liftoff and have already memorized parts of the book after only a couple read a-louds. It's also enjoyable for adults, especially knowing it's based on a true story. The afterward explaining the premise of the story is an interesting adult/older kid read. Great illustrations and text, this book is a winner for all ages!

Perfect for a two year old who chose to be an astronaut for Halloween

I bought all three in the series for my niece for Christmas this year, who is into all things space. She's an advanced reader, so shouldn't have any problem with the reading level. I haven't given them to her, but I read them. Wonderful story line.

A great story for the young aspiring astronaut!

Great book with a great message - You are never too small, too young, etc to be helpful and have purpose! I love that it was written by an astronaut and that he got the idea for his book when he observed the mice on his real space mission. Mouse's name is Meteor - loved it! Great illustrations! Facts in the back teach kids how animals were used in space. I read this aloud to elementary students grades 1-5 . They all enjoyed it and had great "I wonder" questions about our space program!

Fantastic book

A story that demystifies what happens on a NASA space mission...engagingly told in the story of a little mouse...lessons of self esteem, patience and being to contribute no matter how big or small. My 4 year old enjoys it thoroughly...also the perfect gift for kids this age...not commonly found in a kid's book shelf.
