Carhartt Men's V01 Arctic Vest - Arctic Quilt Lined

These vests are the last of what I recall of “old Carhartt” from when I was younger. Their stuff has always run roomy, but in recent years the company has aggressively attempted to separate their workwear and high price high margin fashion business. They’ve done this by oversizing their workwear, and being more careless about the quality of materials and trim. The Detroit jacket and the barn coat you could wear on a job site and still look good for your lady after. Not anymore, they fit like parachutes and the lining detaches from the shell after a handful of washes. The Detroit’s plastic pocket zipper and dropline hems look cheap and slovenly. It’s comfortable to move outside in and cheap to replace but that’s about it. Not so here. This is the same V01 I bought in decades past, with warm lining and a tightly woven canvas shell. The zipper pull is a bit different, but still high quality. I have two, one from Nicaragua and the other from Mexico. They are indistinguishable. Get this one before they replace it with something worse and mark it up as “Carhartt WIP” at triple the price.

Love this vest. Carhartt definitely makes a great product. Their pride comes through their products' quality and reliability. I originally purchased a large but returned it for a medium. I'm 5'11, 195 lbs. I have always thought Carhartt runs a bit larger for the size classifications. If you're wearing a baggy flannel or something then wear a smaller vest it might look a bit off. But all the shirts I wear under this vest blend together seamlessly. Their sizes match up. It's also very warm. I can wear a flannel shirt with my sleeves rolled up, then zip this vest up and I'm more than comfortable. At least in the upper 40's. At some point you're going to need a hat. But I was very impressed how warm this kept me. Perhaps it had something to do with keeping my core warm. Where I would typically layer up with a jacket, I put this vest on and don't miss a beat. The return process was quick, easy and painless.

You can tell that it is a high quality product that will last a long time. Zipper pockets everything is top notch quality. Good enough for Michigan winters especially up until the very coldest part of winter when worn with a hoodie and maybe a long sleeve shirt or thermal base underneath this vest. I definitely recommend this product if you are considering it. I wear this vest starting in mid to late fall until around January before I start wearing my carhartt winter coat most years.

Carhartt usually fits me weird. I have a thin athletic build. I'm 5'10 and 150lbs. A small fits every where but shoulders chest and back; way too tight. A medium usually fits in the shoulders, chest, and back and is way too big every where else. This vest fit me the best. I tried the medium and it was too big; especially around the lower torso. The small fit well but if it was any shorter or much smaller, like if it shrank in the wash much, it probably wouldn't fit. As it is now I can fit a t-shirt and hoodie underneath and it fits a little snug but still comfortable. The quality of this vest is outstanding and it seems very durable. The zipper is heavy duty. The front pockets are good sized and warm. The vest itself is really warm. I live in Kentucky and it's been kind of a mild winter. I'm warm natured but I've worn just the vest and a short sleeve shirt most of the winter. At work I've had to drive a forklift for a little over an hour at around 35-45° and with a thin shirt, the vest and gloves and a sock hat, I was plenty warm. Also, with the front pockets you get 2 layers of duck and 2 layers of insulation which adds a lot of warmth. This vest is really awesome and if it shrank much, I would buy a bigger size and have it tailored to fit, that's how much I like it. The only negative things I can say is the way that carhartt cuts their clothes the sizing can be difficult if you have an athletic build. That is still an issue with this vest but not nearly as bad as other carhartt I've tried. The other issue I've noticed is with rigidity of the duck fabric. While seated, if you're wearing the vest and it's zipped up, the vest gets pushed up to wear the collar is above your jaw and the bottom of the arm holes starts digging into your arm pits. Even if you pull the zipper down a quarter of the way, it's still a problem. It may get better with washing but I don't know because I haven't washed mine yet. Even with those negatives, I still think the best is awesome. If you wanted to wear it all the time while driving, like as truck driver, and need to have it zipped, it might not be for you.

Very warm, high quality vest. Stylish cut. I will say the fit on this is a little small compared to other Carhartt items, the large is a little snug on me (5’10 195lbs) when wearing a hoodie underneath. Sits right at the belt line in the front

I recently purchased this vest to replace my other one just like it that was over 30 years old. It is still good, just showing the age. It was too big. I asked for a return and exchange and immediately got one shipped even before I returned the first one, which I have now done. Great price and seller, better get one, these are the best. Bastante rígido.. pero buen chaleco!

Ho acquistato il gilet Carhartt Work perché si tratta di un capo d'abbigliamento iconico, oramai, quasi da collezione. Caldo, ottima imbottitura, materiale esterno super rigido e ultra resistente. Perfetto. Made in Messico. Riguardo la taglia io ho preso una M (altezza 175 cm, peso 73 kg), confrontando le misure con la tabella Carhartt Work (attenzione a non confondere con W.i.p.), per me la M era quella indicata dai parametri di misura torace/vita. Veste comunque comodo, non è aderente, però se si usa con una felpa sotto, la vestibilità è perfetta. Se invece si utilizza con una normale t-shirt risulta più comodo e largo ma non di molto.

I ordered the vest through Amazon Return Deals. The description said that the vest was in acceptable condition with minor signs of wear. That's why it was also on sale for half the price. I didn't know what to expect. But the item was brand new, with all the price tags attached. Size S is also great for women. The vest is great! Five star rating! Excellent!

Très beau gilet de cette emblématique marque de vêtements de travail, gilet de très bonnes qualités, toile asser rigide, doublure matelasser, une grande poche intérieure côté droit, 2 grandes poches plaqué devant doublé pour avoir les mains au chaud, cole côtelé qui protège bien la nuque du vent, le pan derrière est un peu plus long que devant pour bien protégé le bas du dos quand on se baisse, fermeture éclair à l'anglaise(zippé à droite) bien robuste,par contre je rejoins les commentaires concernant la taille, ces modèles sont de gamme carhartt workwear et non streetwear c'est à dire que les modèles taille bcp plus grand que les tailles européennes pour mon gabarit (voir mensurations plus haut) le M me convient très bien,je peux le porté sur un sweat shirt sans être trop serré, si vous voulez le porté plus fitte avec juste un tee-shirt prenez S.
