I looked all over including local welding supply stores but couldn't find anything for less than $40 and they were decidedly less fashionable. I'm a tall guy with long arms so other jackets would leave a gap between my gloves and sleeves despite having longer cuffed welding gloves. This jacket had the right dimensions and even fits with a layer or two underneath. The snaps on the sides let me take it in a bit when I'm just wearing a t-shirt underneath. After using it for long hours here in the first couple weeks of having it, It's held up very well. The jacket shipped quickly and was packaged reasonably without a bunch of stuff to cut through or annoying peanuts, etc. I'd recommend this jacket from this seller any day.

Awesome welding jackets last a long time

I'm 6'1 200lbs and the XL fits perfectly over a shirt and t-shirt. Im sure in the summer that it will be comfortable over just a short sleeve shirt. It wears like a shirt and not a jacket. I use this for wood turning and as a workshop shirt. The collar keeps wood chips out and the outer material sheds dust and chips very well. The snaps are strong and keep closed while lifting or moving equipment, wood or whatever. I'm happy with this item and suggest that depending on your needs you may be too.

Perfect for Tig welding an as for just a shop coat

I am a beginner at welding and it seemed like overkill to purchase a specialized jacket. Especially since I am doing the welding at my local Makerspace and will probably only don it a handful of times in a year. I've used it a few times and have changed my mind. No burns and my arms aren't covered with debris after welding and grinding. It helps my confidence and I can concentrate laying down a good bead instead of worrying if I'm going to get burnt. It is a lot thicker than a regular shirt, but not as thick as canvas. I feel hotter when I first put it on, but once I start welding and grinding I don't notice it. My shirt is not soaked when I take it off. It has two snaps at the neck closure and two at the wrist closures. There are also two tabs with snaps on it on the lower back, one on the left and one on the right, to take the material in to bring it closer around the stomach. I normally wear a large shirt but ordered this in XL. That was a good decision. I can cross my arms over my chest and and the sleeves do not ride up. Someone in the shop who wears XL (and sometimes XXL) shirts couldn't get his arms into the jacket (tight across the shoulders.) The care instructions are to wash in cool water with no bleach or softeners and to hang dry away from the sun to protect the flame retardant treatment. It also says to replace after 50 washing. With a $25 purchase price, if I wash it after each use, I can live with 50 cents a use. Not like I am going to wash it each time I weld anyway. I do feel a bit self conscious wearing this (red flames and all) while the more experienced welders are going at it in T-shirts. But I am also a firm believer in protecting myself while working. Bottom line is I am satisfied with my purchase. It keeps me from getting burned, I am not covered with debris after welding, it doesn't make me feel suffocated, and it doesn't restrict my motions. I will definitely purchase this again if this one every wears out.
