My kiddo asked me for a "thinner" lunchbox because the other one was too bulky - bag shaped. I saw this one and wondered "Will it be thin enough for this very particular person?" I knew the brand would be sturdy, and it totally is. It is great quality and should never fall apart like the kind we get themed for little kids.It is much larger than I imagined, but it is designed in a way that can get thinner or fit in, while also being grip-able to youth's hands inside a dark large backpack filled with the stuff the schools require them to have these days. I've been stressed since learning the school makes my kid wait until 1:40 to eat lunch, it's a huge risk to not feed kids that long. Eventually teachers may figure this out when only the late lunch gets rowdy. But we're working on self-advocacy and independence, so he gets a thin lunchbox, and takes this to class where he's advocated kids get to munch and learn.The Carhardt lunchbox is very durable, easily cleans [just don't forget it all summer like I accidentally did one year]. It is "functional" as my son describes it and "it's pretty cool." He approves of it highly given it is easily spotted, in the depths of his school bag, and it's uber convenient to stand out the way it does. It definitely meet his requirements, and he is happy with it. Which means I am also happy, even though we are still working on him packing it himself. He says the handle would be nice to have on the shorter side to have a handle because he stores it sideways, length-ways in his bag. This can be confusing to take it out and grab with only one handle, he says, but I'm confident that he could figure this challenge out himself and not miss any sleep over it.The size is good for a young person or a reasonable meal of a sandwich, chips, drink, and cookies or snack. It could carry non-poke damaging metal utensils, or cans of soda easily. It could carry any number of edible items and it is larger than your typical school supplies box that kids have. Maybe 3/4 size larger.We have not tried it to test how long it keeps things cook with an icepack, or if it is waterproof in a pool, etc, but just looking at it, it is going to withstand many natural disasters. If anything, someone may think it's cooler than their own lunch bag and grow legs. If needed, yes I'd gladly buy another of these for him, it is a very good quality product. I wish it came in different colors, but this is unique enough to stand out.

Simple, basic lunch bag with plenty of space for a big boy lunch for my hungry husband. Material is well-made.

Ended up having to get a bigger one because my husband works 12 hr shifts and takes SO much food 🥴 but this one worked great while he used it and kept everything cold the whole 12 hours.
