I'm a critic, so I don't cheapen my reviews by handing out 5-star reviews like candy. With that said, here is why I awarded this jerky a rare honor. 👍 The spice level is the best I have ever consumed. It burned so good, it gave me tears of joy. ⚠️ However, please be aware that this is an extremely spicy food. If you're someone who thinks ordinary table SALT & PEPPER is spicy, then you may want to avoid this product. 👍 The meat has the right level of chewiness. 👍 I think the amount of product is just right for maybe two snacks.

Got this as a present for my brother who loves hot things. It smelled kinda sweet which he enjoyed. And he said there is a kick. Over all very good! And shipped pretty quick!

I received this originally in a sampler and was really impressed. I brought the ghost pepper and Carolina reaper packages into work because we all like spicy stuff. Everyone was impressed with the levels of taste and quality of meat in the jerky, but we felt like the Carolina reaper was hot just to be hot. Not two hours later about 75% of the people who shared the bags had to run to the restroom in pain, not food poisoning pain, but "whatever this is wants out now" type of pain. I reordered because for me the heat level was nice, and it was pretty tasty. I received the 3 pack of 3oz packages and again brought them in to my office for staff to snack on. Again, the thoughts were: "good quality meat", "perfect texture and bite", "good spice flavoring but the heat was too much". The same situation arose when I noticed several coworkers clutching their abdomens after an hour or so had passed. But not me, no sir I sat there and snacked in my own 3oz bag all day in total spice and heat bliss. The drive home tonight was interesting. I started feeling really gassy a few exits away and began getting the nervous sweats. When I arrived I greeted my wife but made an immediate b line for the bathroom where I began to crap these molten hot ingots of pure fire. I was immediately relieved of the gassy feelings but now I was faced with a new problem: my butt feels like I just birthed a hot poker and I'm crying in pain. Wiping with toilet paper did little to no good, I ended up making the walk of shame from our kitchen bath to the master bedroom shower and finally had relief. For the last three hours I have been making the trek to the bathroom and drinking as much milk as I can. Moral of this review: its HOT, I was not prepared for this, and their jerky is everything you'd want out of a manufacturer. It's a well minded company and they have great customer interaction skills. I will be ordering again, but this time a lower level heat. 4/5 because I had to buy a tube of aloe cream to soothe the pain down there.

Got a 3 pack and it was good. You can taste the jalapeno for sure, but it is far from heat. The meat was quality. It was chewy, but not that fake "chewy" Jack Link's likes to pull on us. In 3 bags, I didn't find any hard fat or gristle spots you get in cheaper stuff. They prioritize large whole pieces instead of cutting everything up. At over 8 bucks a bag I can't say this is a deal, just pure luxury at this point. Would definitely be a steal if they were under 7 bucks a bag.

Nice and spicy but tastes like straight candy. If you like your jerkey sweet this is a good buy for you but the sweetness is a no go for me.

These guys can do Jerky right! So far, I've tried several flavors and none have disappointed. But for those who love spicy, Ghost Pepper is probably going to be your favorite. It's pretty hot, but still completely enjoyable. The flavor of the Ghost Pepper comes through perfectly, and the quality of the jerky is far superior to most of what you'd find in any grocery store or gas station. The only hotter flavor they have, which I have tried as well, is the Carolina Reaper. For the ultimate experience in heat, you should check that one out too... but make no mistake it's HOT! I think most people, even lovers of all things spicy, will still find Ghost Pepper the more enjoyable of the two. 10/10 will purchase again.

I have always been a fan of spicy jerky, and when I came across this Carolina Reaper jerky I was excited to try it. Upon first opening the bag I was surprised at how moist and succulent the meat was, so much so that the large slabs were all stuck together into one large sheet. After peeling them apart and cutting the meat into smaller strips I ate my first piece, wondering whether the spice would be as weak as others had claimed. This jerky is incredibly tasty, and despite loving spicy food I don't think I'd want to eat jerky any hotter than this. As other have noted it's about as spicy as a fresh jalapeno pepper, which might not seem like much to a chile head but is just mild enough that it doesn't overpower the delightful taste of the meat. I ordered a 3-pack and all three bags are moist and fresh. I'm very happy with both the taste and the heat of this jerky and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a spicy but still-tasty jerky!

This is a succulent yet painful delight. Tears roll down my face after I eat a strip (more like a sheet) of this jerky, yet I somehow manage to consume another. This is without a doubt the most delicious beef jerky I've ever experienced. If you like ridiculously spicy food that tastes great, I can't think of anything that fits the bill better. Seriously, the flavor, moisture, and texture convinced me to order my second three-pack. My wife asks me why I put myself through this torture, but it's so good. The only knock is that it's pricey. However, I can't take any stars off because it's so delicious. I couldn't eat this every day, but it's something I'll probably treat myself to every couple of months. Edit: Please note, I also tried to review their Black Pepper jerky. For some reason, reviews for all their various flavors are aggregated in this one spot, so it won't allow me to post twice. I'm going to try contacting the company because I'm hoping I simply received a bad batch. The Black Pepper jerky was some of the worst jerky I've ever had. It was ridiculously tough, dry, and overly salty. If it had been even slightly moist, I might have been able to appreciate the black pepper. However, most of the pepper dropped away from the super dry jerky strips. I was really hoping for a less spicy version of the Carolina Reaper jerky. However, except for the way it's sliced, which is more like sheets than small strips, it had none of the awesome qualities of the Reaper jerky.
