Old India Chick Peas 5kg

Small ,but beautiful chickpeas.Soak overnight and they take around 1/2 hour to cook.They keep a nice bit of crunch and have a wonderful nutty flavour.Great for vegan pasta sauce and subcontinental cooking.

Nice flavour and good quality,make sure they are soaked overnight before cooking.

Bought to add to pigeon feed. for some reason the feral birds I feed don't like seeds, they just want three peas and peanuts. So, I bought these to see if they'd go for chickpeas. They did, wolfed them down. Pigeons are very greedy. I noticed no defects in the product, nothing to mar the peas and the bag they came in was nice and strong. 1kg was nowhere near enough for my purposes though. you think it's a lot, but it really isn't. I would think for domestic and human consumption this would be a decent sized bag though. I don't eat them, I can't vouch for taste or chewability.

I like to buy in bulk so wanted to have something that I could dip into whenever. These have made many a meal and I've still got lots left. For any recipe that requires soaked, just do half of that. I personally put it in a stew in the instant pot and just let it cook for an hour. Comes out just the way we like them. Recommended.
