I love the size of this purifier perfect for apartments. I love white noise so the sound did not bother me low setting is very very quiet. I like the medium setting with perfect white noise. I have asthma and definitely noticed a difference on the first night. Much easier to breathe, giving off a slight plastic smell but that's to be expected (its made of plastic) since I just took it out of the box. I am hoping the smell will go away with a bit of use! One thing I did not receive was directions on how to change the filter but it comes with filters so don't need to worry for now!

I have changed all my filters a couple times. this time was because carbon light was on.I have changed the carbon filters prob four times in a year and half. This time I changed all filters and thelight remains on, on the top. I have pressed the carbon light with my finger, unplugged it, adjusted thefilters. I need to know how these lights all reset. I cannot find my manual for the life of me. Please help

Of the two, I think the Vornado is far easier to use and clean (I clean the spongy "carbon" filter which is really nothing more than a robust, thicker version of the usual A/C sponge filter that one buys for a window mounted a/c) and vacuum the hepa filter so as to extend its effective lifetime.Essentially, I just leave it on the lowest setting (we have it on in our bedroom area 24/7/365) and clean it once a month.The result, ....both my wife and I have less "allergy/dust/pollen/whatever" congestion. We breath much easier at night and feel the air quality as fresher and healthier.Again, for the price of about $100 you get a robustly made, quietly operating machine (that we keep on the low setting) for 24/7 and have noticed a very substantial difference in our breathing ability while sleeping.I HIGHLY recommend the unit. I am a retired mechanical engineer and I know quality when I see and use it thus, 5 stars (wish I could give it 10) all around. The only time I pay attention to it is monthly cleanup of filters which takes all of 10 minutes.UPDATE 8/13/21.....THESE ARE STILL WORKING STRONG AND OF all THE AIR FILTERS/PURIFIERS that I have bought or owned THERSE SEEM TO COLLECT THE MOST DIRST/DUST/PARTICLES! Still HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!BTW, I spend a small fortune in time, energy, and moola in buying and using stuff here on Amazon so if you found this review "HELPUL,"......well, you know what to do! The media could not be loaded.  I am very sensitive to dust and pollen and get the worst allergy when the air is not completely clean, I can vouch for this product it does the it for me. A fantastic air purifier for larger spaces. I use this purifier in the living room of my apartment. It is easily able to purify the airspace between the living room, kitchen, office and hallways at fan speed setting 2 of 4. The airflow is quiet, and very powerful. On full setting, it can be a bit loud, but the airflow it produces is massive. I personally do not need it to run at full speed, medium is more than enough to cover 600 square feet or so. I’m very happy with this purchase! Here’s a list of pros and cons:Pros:*Auto sensing setting – automatically adjusts fan speed by continuously checking air quality. When air quality is good, fan will run at quietest setting automatically.*Easily replaced and affordable filters.*Small footprint - fits easily into a corner.*Whole room coverage – with it’s upward facing air output, the purifier spreads purified air across the entire room, circulating air from top to bottom.*Affordable filter replacements – With separate carbon and hepa filters, cost is low for replacement of the more often worn carbon filter.*It looks good! I have been using this in my 10' x '14 bedroom for about a month and have been very pleased with it. Setup and operation is very simple. There are a few things worth noting. Placement: this unit works best when placed in the corner of the room (per instructions). Noise: Ranges from a whisper on "Low" to a strong whoosh on "High" with a very slight audio-level tone on "Medium". Though, nothing out of the ordinary for this class/ price range. Bright blue power indicator: Not super bright but may be annoying to those who like their room completely dark. Filter replacement: For both the HEPA and carbon filter, generic ones are available which make replacing them more affordable for those who choose to go that route.

Excellent air purifier with the great Vornado air moving fan. Reasonable priced carbon filters are readily available. Like all Vornado products, excellent with no issues. Highly recommended.

Funciona bien en habitación de chica a mediana. El ruido es bastante soportable en los 3 niveles, el diseño es agradable, fácil de trasladar de una habitación a otra, tiene filtro HEPA, pero su alcance si es reducido. Hay otro modelo un poco más completo, pero también incrementa su precio. Por el precio de este modelo, está bien a secas, puede haber otras opciones con mejor rendimiento invirtiendo un 10% a 20% adicional al valor de este modelo. Si volviera a comprar un purificador, buscaría esas opciones con un poco más de rendimiento (que abarquen habitaciones un poco más grandes), invirtiendo un poco más de dinero.
