Comes assembled and ready to go?
Works as described. The base is really heavy to hold it

Mind-bending illusions & super calming!
A present for my brother — a lover of science and art — this was the perfect gift. As a stand-alone piece it's so beautiful, but also such a cool gadget. It arrived in this beautiful box too, and I didn't even need to wrap it.

Gave as a gift - they loved...
It was Christmas. I hardly saw it or touched it. They (my sister and brother-in-law) loved it. Said it was really cool, "where do you find such cool gifts". So.. yeah...So I did mess with it a little there / then - kind of mesmerizing.

Pricey for what it is
I bought this as a gift for someone who has a hard time falling asleep. I figured tinkering with something that draws your attention to it would help quiet racing thoughts and, I was right! The giftee enjoyed the concept and the look of this contraption on its stand, HOWEVER. This is not some high quality product. The box it comes in is lovely so the packaging is not the issue but the sculpture is quick to choose a direction and form to only want to spin appropriately in that direction. There is another review that said after the box was opened they could not lay it flat. That is accurate, because of the design. You should not have to consistently figure out how to fix something that is made of cheap metal and costs more than $50. Was the gift appreciated? Yes. Could I heavily recommend it? No.It's an artsy fidget spinner.
