not bright enough
The light is not bright enough to see the road without street lights. Although the flashing feature is helpful to be seen by on coming traffic.

compact and bright
This little light is small and effective for in-town use. Battery endurance is good and it's easy to plug in the charger while you leave the light on the handlebars. It doesn't weight much, and is much less massive than the Cateye models that use four AA cells. A word of warning - if you use it in the flashing or low-power mode, the modulation can send spurious signals to your wireless computer and you can find yourself indicating 72 mph while sitting still. If you use a wired computer, or if you always use it in high power / bright mode, it's not a problem.

Great Light, Bang for the Buck
It's really hard to review this product, it does everything that cat-eye says on their website. It is extremely bright, it burns out in 2 hours on high setting, it is water resistant (I've ridden with it in the rain). One thing I noticed was the screw fell out of the mount, my LBS gave me a new one, but it's irritating to lose it.

I think I got a bad charging unit that is sensing a full charge very ...
Minutes after taking it out of the box...Initial charge the Red light on charger comes on after just a few minutes and the light does not get a full charge. light only lasted less than 2 minutes on high. Then (for an hour) I kept unplugging and re plugging in the charger and this time the light lasted about an hour. BUT it was only bright for about 5 minutes then it slowly faded. I think I got a bad charging unit that is sensing a full charge very prematurely. Where is the quality control at Cateye. Small, lightweight, sleek design but when on the brightest it's not really bright enough to ride the unlit trails at night unless your going at a crawl.

Works great one it's charged, however the charger sucks and takes FOREVER!The little red light on the charger keeps coming on and then it stops charging so you have to keep resetting it.

A VERY GOOD HEADLIGHT
This is a rechargeable headlight. It uses internal batteries of NiMH. They are specific batteries for this headlight. The life of each charge is about 2 hours if we have the light at high power or 6 hours if it is at low power. This is a headlight of high quality. It has a LED bulb. This kind of light is the more efficient as to the ratio of power to battery consumption.Their light is very powerfull. If it is well placed, it can light up 15 yards ahead. It is quite a lot for a bike. Moreover, it is worth emphasizing the high quality of their lighting. It gives a very smooth light. The only drawback is its price, that is a bit expensive, about $125 . This price includes the batteries and the charger. But for somebody (like me) who usually go with the bike in the night through roads without any illumination, it is indispensable a high quality headlight like this.

Don't rely on this light for night rides
Not a particularly good bike light, it gives off a max of 1000 candlepower, which translates into roughly 50 lumens at a 15 degree inclination. I agree with the other reviewer who states that it does not give off enough light to see without streetlights. Solely relying on this light, I could barely see the pavement in front of me at night. It seems like the strobe is decent enough to warn oncoming traffic that you are present, but if you are doing any kind of commuting or serious riding at night and actually need to see anything in front of you, go with some other bike light.

Not worth the price.
The light is fairly bright, nothing spectacular, but bright enough for Chicago commuting. I read many negative reviews about the bracket, however my main issue lies with the extremely cheap and flimsy plastic casing. I have never dropped the light (though I believe a light costing approximately 100 bucks should hold up against a 3-4 foot fall without any issues), but the the casing cracked in my backpack. I always try to be careful with my backpack for I keep my sunglasses, graphing calculator, cell phone, and mp3 player in the bag, and they have not sustained any damage. The battery takes a long time to recharge, and its an all around bad buy. I would not recommend this light to anyone.
