This is a great little V-mount battery plate — solid build and works exactly as expected. It connects really well to tripod legs or smaller support poles, which is perfect for my setup. Just a heads-up: it doesn’t grip as securely on thicker poles, but for standard tripod legs, it holds perfectly. Super convenient and a nice addition to my rig.

Great clamp, and the v mount plate can be removed from the clamp to screw mount to something else. I'm using it on the leg of my tripod to hold a v mount battery, powering my video recorder and camera. As usual, SmallRig build quality is great. I recommend this product.

Does exactly what it says, and clamps down very securely. No notes.

Great for putting a V-mount battery where there's not an easy mounting point, like a stand or truss. I use them most for mounting alongside small cameras, converters, or transmitters where there's not a standard mounting solution already. Only qualm is the release is not automatically engaged - you have to hold the latch when putting the battery on - makes it hard for one hand operation.

Good tool for VMount Battery

The v mount plate is hanging on by one screw. Every time I attach a big v mount battery, it starts to come loose at the end of the day. I always have to take it apart just to screw the mount tighter. If I forget to tighten it before a shoot, then it becomes a problem! I won't have time to find the correct Allen wrench to take it apart and use a ANOTHER sized Allen wrench to tighten the screw. Then put it back together. I would have to pray that the mount never falls off with all the cables attached, and it sounds like it has happened to some people in the reviews! And no, adding a second screw to the clamp won't fix the issue. The clamp will no longer be able to extend wide enough since it is obstructed by the v mount plate.

As usual, SmallRig provided a quality product. I am happy with SmallRig mini V mount Battery plate. It's from metal, looks durable and it's very easy to use on almost every tripod and other type of equipment. Perfect for new models of V-mount batteries. Its compact size and works amazing with my SmallRig VB99 but also with the SWIT V-mount battery which is bigger.
