White Mountain Puzzles The Olde General Store - 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

This was a really fun puzzle and the whole family enjoyed it. I have a pretty decent collection of White Mountain puzzles and this one was just as good as the others. So here's the rundown.The Good:Large pieces are easy to hold and make the overall finished puzzle much larger than your average 1000 piece puzzle.Loved the artwork and the puzzle matched the photo on the box quite well.The pieces are nice and thick (much thicker than most brands) and all were in perfect conditionThe pieces stay together very well. This is definitely not one of those wiggly puzzles.I could lift the entire finished puzzle off the table without it falling apart.Different shapes for pieces make it more fun.Made In USA.I got it for $9.97 so the price was most certainly right.The Bad:Wish they had the crazy piece design of the old Springbok puzzles.Overall I would say White Mountain puts out a great puzzle at a very reasonable price. The best thing though is that they have actually improved their puzzles. I own an older puzzle from them and the new ones have much thicker pieces. It's nice to see a company improve their product instead of finding ways to make them cheaper by reducing the quality.

This puzzle is very well made, the pieces are a good size & are well cut. It isone of the most difficult puzzles we have attempted. Many different parts are asimilar color. Great picture, but a large challenge. This is one that is not likelyto be finished quickly.

I am a puzzle enthusiast! I purchase one at the beginning of each summer break and work on it throughout. Oft I finish two per break. I love old-time and primitive themed puzzles. This one however.....Oh my gosh I never NOT finish a puzzle. I'm a bit OCD and always, always finish. Not this time. I really struggled with the paint effect on this puzzle. The size is awkward and did not fit in my puzzle Lazy Susan. (which is big and fits most 1000 piece puzzles) This puzzle is very tall. I love the content of this product so it's so disappointing that the paint strokes on each puzzle piece is just so difficulty to decipher. I'd rate this as the hardest puzzle I've ever worked on! I've done many puzzles that were prints of paintings, still this one was different. Very thick paint was used and I wasn't pleased with the quality. If you are looking for a real hard-core challenge, then you've found one! I wish I could give this puzzle more stars. Again I love the content, just not the quality. =(

White Mountain Puzzles are reliable. The pieces are sufficiently strong to wear well over time. The pieces FIT well together. You really know when you have the correct connection. The art work is pleasing and well reproduced. It is always a pleasure to have a new White Mountain Puzzle.

Have yet to put it together, but looks fun. White Mountain are good puzzles.So, after starting this puzzle, I'm changing my review from 5 to 4 stars. I love that this is a painting rather than a photograph. It makes it more interesting. Yes, it also makes it a little more difficult, but I don't like them too easy. My only complaint about this puzzle is that the pieces really do not fit together well. In fact, you would think many of them don't fit when they actually do. This was not cut well at all.

I love The Olde General Store. It is colorful and easy to put together. I took it to anursing home and everyone loves. It brings back memories for many. When theyfinish it, they are going to use puzzle glue and hang it on the wall. Thank youWhite Mountain Puzzles.

The pieces are a bit larger than most puzzles and fit well together, as with all the White Moutain puzzles I've tried. The shapes on the pieces are not distinctive, making it hard to tell what is what, so challenging to do.

Very challenging puzzle but rewarding, hard starting at first but once your eye adjusts to the paint strokes your on your way. Takes time, this one isn’t a one dayer.

The pieces fit so well you can pick up a chunk of 10-20 pieces without fear. Not the hardest puzzle you'll do but a lot of fun. Will definitely buy more of this brand.

I've done a lot of puzzles in my 80 year life time and this is probably the most difficult one I have encountered. Still working through it and will finish it if it kills me!Earl
