I have a 15.6 inch screen laptop but the body itself measures just under 15.5 wide. apparently this is right at the limit of the case. will it flex?

the internal volume is about 15x11.5x2.5 inches, so does not fit in your case.

Is there a strap on the back of the laptop bag to hook it to the handle of a carry-on?

The correct answer is "yes". You can slide this onto the handle of your pull luggage via the strap on the back of the bag. Too bad they don't show a picture of that. But its the same design you see on just about all the laptop bags these days.

does this bag look bulky/does it look huge?

No, it is not huge. It does fit my 15.6' laptop perfectly and has a pouch for my iPad. However, it does not appear big or bulky.

will it hold my roller blades?

I keep my roller blades and skateboard in it 24 7
