I bought these as I love to try a range of scissors and add to my collection and, having searched for best dressmaking scissors, these came up amongst the top ones so I wanted to try them out. They’re actually pretty good – nice and sharp, and they cut through fabric cleanly without snagging….they just feel far too light for me and feel very short compared to my current Fiskars. I prefer to cut in long strides for precision which I get with the Fiskars and struggle to get really straight lines with these. They feel very lightweight, which I think would be very helpful for some people longer cutting sessions, but the lightness does take some getting used to if you’re familiar with heavier, more solid scissors. They also feel quite short compared to my Fiskars, which makes longer cuts a bit less controlled. That said, they do the job well enough, just nothing near as good as my Fiskars. Those still feel sturdier, smoother and far more precise. I’d honestly recommend Fiskars over these, as they look and perform so well and feel superior in quality. The handle is comfortable but smaller than some and not quite as steady as my usual pair. Still, for a backup or a lightweight option to keep in my sewing room they are a decent pair…just different. Overall, good scissors for everyday projects in the sewing/crafting room, just not the ones I reach for when I want the cleanest, most accurate cut. My Fiskars still win by a mile. These were good though when cutting through some batting/wadding as shown in my video. I have added images of these scissors from all angles alongside my so far, favourite Fiskars scissors; the Amplify Razor Edge scissors which are in my opinion a superior scissor to these. I have checked the purchase date on Amazon for the Fiskars and surprised to see that I purchased them over five years ago and to date never had a problem with them and never needed them sharpening and, they are still cutting incredibly well with still razor sharp blades. I would though recommend these if you have very arthritic hands because they are so lightweight. I have stiff hands with osteoarthritis but still prefer my current scissors. It would take something special to impress me more than the Fiskars Amplify Razor Edge scissors, especially as they are the same price range as these Gingher’s.

Schneidet sehr gut. Diese Schere gab es so schon vor 20 Jahren zu kaufen und auch diese alte Schere ist nach so langer Zeit noch scharf. Ich hoffe, das die neu gekaufte auch so gut und lange hält. Sie macht auf jeden Fall einen sehr guten Eindruck, so dass ich optimistisch bin.

These are my favorite fabric scissors. They’re lightweight, sturdy, and make crisp, clean cuts every time. The bent handle keeps fabric flat and cutting easy, which makes them perfect for sewing. I love them so much, I bought this pair as a gift for my crafty mother.
