Fits perfectly
I've got a 20' Werner extension ladder that needed a new nylon rope. This is the one to get. Some rope needed to be cut off as it fits up to a 40' Werner ladder. Just don't be dumb and do what I did. I melted the cut end with a match as instructed to prevent fraying but did so before I put the rope through the pulley. The melted end couldn't get through (too big after melting) so I had to cut off the melted end, thread through pulley, then re-melt the end.

Disappointed - Werener Packaging label deceiving...
Photo on package kit Model # AC30-2 shows Replacement Rope with a rope that has 2 aluminum ferrules, one pre crimped with a loop and anther double aluminum ferrule that rope goes through on one side and an open ferrule on the opposite side to hook onto the pulling half of the rope, just as the ladder had when it was new. Replacement Rope DOES NOT come with the 2nd 2-sided ferrule.. How cheap are they to include???

It's a rope
I had replaced the rope on my ladder before with a braided rope with a core in the middle. It lasted for many years, and if not for the pulley being damaged and the rope constantly slipping off or catching on the pulley, I wouldn't have searched for a new rope. Since I was replacing the pulley, I decided to get a new rope, and most ladders come with a rope like this. So for the same price as 50 feet of cheap braided rope (with a core) with the excess I don't need, I decided to try this. And it's fine. I'm not a ladder extremists who races to see how fast they can get their ladder up or down, but I have seen reviews that say this type of rope is hard on hands and can burn you if you lower it too fast or when it gets older it gets splintery. I can see that, and if I need to replace it again, I'll probably look around for a softer, nicer, real braided rope (not with a core in the middle), like a boat dock line, and if not too expensive go that route.

Good Replacement Rope Assembly
Works fine on my Louisville 24-footer. Very easy to install if you RTFM and watch what you are doing. Rope assembly is made in China. Came with crimped loop already installed on the load-bearing end. No crimp supplied or needed at other end, your favorite stay-put knot will work fine. No chafing damage found as mentioned in some other reviews. Rope is somewhat slick when handled with bare hands so use gloves when extending or retracting ladder.

It’s a rope.
If you want a rope, here is a rope. I bought this because it was supposed to be a replacement part for a certain ladder. I’m disappointed that it had a specific parts label and wasn’t the rope I was looking for. This was supposed to be a stretchy soft rope instead, it’s a plastic feeling rope that’s uncomfortable in the hand.
