Garnier Skinactive Micellar Foaming Face Wash, For All Skin Types, 6.7 Fl Oz

I was devastated when my favorite cleanser was recently discontinued, and I've been on a quest since then. I tried the regular micellar water by Garnier, but using it correctly was rough (basically, you can't just swipe it on the way you would a toner; you have to use soaked cotton pads to "wash" the skin like you would use your fingers and hands with a soap cleanser, and that kind of friction on my skin, even with the gentlest cotton, created some redness on my reactive skin). With this gel in-shower product I have found my answer at last! This cleans well but does not strip the skin, which is very important for me and is a feature that many people don't understand. In years past, we've cleaned ourselves with such harsh products that we've learned crave lots of bubbles, lots of slip, a squeaky you-could-eat-food-off-this-body-it's-so-clean kind of feeling…but that is TERRIBLE for our skin! This cleanser helps get the unwanted stuff off the skin, but maintains a healthy moisture barrier and keeps all the good stuff. It's not great removing waterproof makeup, but regular cleansers rarely are; you need special makeup remover solutions for that. But for general day to day use, this is the thing! It's not a thick gel, and one pump will usually suffice for a face full of light makeup and/or sunscreen. Of note, there are two formulas (one in pink and one in green), but the ingredient lists are identical. (Also, I've found that it is miraculous in cutting through that weird film that deodorant leaves behind. In the shower, I wash my face with this, then my pits, and all skin is fresh and happy!)

Received this about a week ago and really like the way it thoroughly removes my makeup (even eye makeup). Foams up some, but not as much as others I’ve used which concerned me at first, but not anymore (I wet my hands 1st, them use 1 full pump each time rubbing hands together to create the foaming action, then apply to wet face). I use the Garnier clearly brighter spf 15 sunscreen (another great product I just discovered) - no longer need a primer, followed by a light dusting of powder, blush, mascara and brow makeup . This removes everything without having to scrub or rub harshly as doing that causes irritation and breakouts. Rinses clean and skin feels soft & smooth without stripping the skin’s natural moisture barrier which makes the oil glands produce more oil. There’s no tightness or flaking as other ‘mattifying’ cleansers have done. You can smile right after cleansing and your face doesn’t feel like it’s going to crack. Only been using about a week and already notice my skin is less oily and no breakouts (I have cystic acne problems) that I take low daily dose of doctor prescribed antibiotic for. Quickly ordered the 2 pack of this as I don’t want to run out of this great product that actually does what it says it will do. I’ve used Estée Lauder, Clarins, Lancome, Neutrogena, etc. and while some of those were OK, I find Garnier to be more effective a a fraction of the cost. I am a mature woman (almost 60) and of African American descent but would recommend this cleanser to anyone (regardless of whether you wear makeup or not), who wants a cleanser that cleans beautifully without causing that dry and tight feeling, leaving it thoroughly cleansed , smooth and touchable soft. Thank you Garnier for a truly wonderful product. I hope you never discontinue it.

No skin irritation, cleans my oily skin wonderfully. Good quality. Won’t leave your skin moisturized because it’s for oily skin but won’t dry it out either.
