Q: Will this be too hard to pull on for a 2 and a half year old? We already have a cheaper version of this kind of toy and he loves it.

This toy requires a lot of pull to launch it. My grandson is 5 & 1/2 years old. Although he could launch it, it never made it higher my head and didn't go very far (maybe 6 to 10 feet). When I helped him, I had to hold the toy and help him pull the cord. Then we could get it to fly. This is a sturdy toy and takes a hard pull to get the spinner in the air. If you pull hard enough it will go high and far. Hope this helps. It is a good toy for you to work with your son, I had a lot of fun with my grandson and he had a lot of fun too. Hope this helps.

Q: Can you just buy replacement disks? We lost ours but still have the handle.

I see replacement disks at the Discovery toy website but you have to pay for shipping. At the Amazon site, they offer some that look similar and light up. They look like fun. I might get some of them. There is no shipping charge at Amazon. Good luck!

Q: The string broke after 3 uses. My granddaughter loves this. How do I replace? The string should not break ?

I'm not sure how to replace the string.However I would return the whole thing from where you bought it. That would be the very best thing to do.
