GREAT KNIFE bought just over a year ago, used at a motor vehicle accident I stopped for. Works teriffic good quality!
I just bought two more of these now! I have to say I was very satisfied when I first bought this knife being into tactical gear, seeing and owning knives for over two decades from trying out no name mom and pop brands (some now larger and well known) to major players like Microtech and I'll even say Gerber, I'm talking about the high end Gerber stuff made to be beat and work hard without breaking so let's just say I've had some experience with knives. I love carrying my Microtech OTF Combat Trodoon but at almost $550 almost always carrying it in a sheath but still worry about loosing it, or theft, NOT breaking it being they have terrific customer service. Anyway I bought this to carry when I'd rather leave my Microtech at home but still have a good knife with the same capabilities like the glass breaker, bull tip, partially serrated, and good size. The knife blade locks firmly and hasn't loosened the pocket clip did a bit, moving about a 1/8" at most where I have it tightened to now being tightening the screw makes opening it harder. I have used abused and tested this knife like cutting right thru a piece of an Infinity front bumper 3/16" no problem, construction items like wood to sheetrock even wire cutting or stripping, all over. Glass doors and windows aren't a match for the real glass breaker not a cheap price. Being the curious guy I even cut some shingles which obviously required a bit of cleaning and sharpening after but it went right back to working. Just recently I came across a second's old SUV rollover with one driver in her 70-80's consious but pinned by her seatbelt which locked and pressing into her chest causing her trouble breathing I quickly popped her sunroof with the carbide glass breaker and cut her belt with the strap cutter being safe to do so. So between my trials, its ability to be very deadly by design I've stabbed pigs (already dead) with teriffic ease and designed safety to yourself being the knife is capable of providing a safe grip even when wet, God forbid you need it that way it can easily save your life, the overall quality and ability to take abuse, plus the name plate INCLUDES backup blades under it without adding bulk, a nice advantage for the money is why I give 5 stars.

Cost vs. quality
While not inexpensive, this is a quality knife. I looked up the type of steel and it is one of the better ones for this application. The build quality is very high with tight tolerances leading to everything being tightly held together. If you can afford the extra cost, I believe it's worth it.

My Daily Carry For Over Four Years (Owned Since Sep 2012)
The Escape has been my daily carry for over four years. It sleeps on my bedside table. I love the thing. At this point, the belt clip has 1mm of click play left and right wiggle, there is some finish wear around the handle (see pictures), and the knife could stand a sharpen. That's it after 4 years. My maintenance regime has been a very occasional clean using: baby wipes, spit, leaves, alcohol wipes, wet grass, my t-shirt, a slow moving squirrel, or the tears of joy cried by my fans. The seat belt cutter is really more for cutting string, ribbon, dental floss to a precise length of 6.28 inches, or other similar tasks. The Escape cannot effectively dispatch a seat belt because it doesn't have the rounded beveled blade some other rescue knives have. The Escapes's glass breaker, on the other hand, is shatteringly effective. My Escape is still seeing weekly service as box opener, tag cutter, envelope flayer, and slayer of that plastic packaging designed by creatures of the lower depths (you know the stuff.). Right now the Escape is getting some heavy Amazon box opening action this 2016 X-mas season. The blade is still getting things done even on the original factory sharpened edge. Wow. One slight draw back is that I do occasionally get someone in my 'polite civilized' circles who comments on it being a 'big' or 'evil' looking knife. I think that's pretty insensitive to how the knife feels about being called such things! If I chose to get an Escape with black blade and tanto point, it probably would not increase the 'eye pop' factor much more, but I don't think I'd get any SOG knife larger and more 'tacti-cool' than an Escape/Trident/Aegis or Flash. My reply to those comments insinuating I'm ready to fight in Michael Jackson's 'Beat It' video, is always along the lines of, "It's my rescue knife. It's called the Éscapé (Eh-skop-Ay)." A trendy foreign sounding name is less threatening. I also say, "See, it's got a belt cutter and glass breaker ... right here ...". I point out the features, finish whatever task was needed, and return it to my front right pocket. Yes, the Escape has some heft and size to it, and there is some mental comfort of knowing I might be able to survive a dance off and potential bandana fashion crisis. Truly though, the Escape is a great daily work horse, with the perks of smashing glass, and a little exposed utility edge for when you need to cut just that thing. If you have been thinking about an SOG knife, or a rescue style knife, I highly recommend this. The Escape is a darn good tool that has never let me down in 4 years of service.

Good knife with cool features.
The Escape is a knife with rescue tool features. The steel is Chinese Stainless is tough but needs sharpening fairly often however the serrations are great. The handle is comfortable with alot of gimping to keep it in your hand. The replaceable strap cuter and the glass breaker work great. The back lock is rock soild. The thumb studs came louse after 4 mouths of use be that is easily fixed.

Not as easy one hand opening as it is suggested.
Very nice knife, my only gripe is it’s not assisted opening. I just received it a couple days ago, I haven’t got a lot of use out of it. I like the size of it not to bulky and not to small to get dwarfed by my hand. I would definitely recommend buying this knife.
