It works. It holds the full-DE blade. Mine had no defects. Just move the slide to unlock/lock the flap. When locked, it is held in place by friction so if it ever goes loose, just pinch the metal hook thing tighter.Afterwards, how well it cuts is entirely up the shaver's skill and how sharp the DE blade used is. Only time will tell how robust the shavette will last.1st shave with it, I used it to shave my head after a month's growth with no soap and a "one week"-old blade instead of the 5 that they give you (😬, I know). But it was just to test how solid the holder was and it held up .Unrelated to the shavette, shaving your head with a shavette isn't easy but isn't hard. Getting around the ears is awkward.Some notes: this particular full-DE blade shavette design seems to be common. Only differences seems to be what brand is labeled on it and the finish.Also seems to be a good idea to leave the flap open so it doesn't trap moisture after use.

For price i would recommend but does come with name brand blades but the blade didn't sit just rite but was able to to use it just fine

It looks and handles nicely, but, while it's convenient not to have to break double blades or buy single edges, there's no easy way to make sure the other edge you're not using stays dry. This means that the other edge of the blade is dull and rusty by the time you rotate the blade to use the new edge.Also, the tension nut which is supposed to keep the release slide from moving doesn't tighten all that well, meaning you have to shave while keeping tension on the release slide with your thumb while you shave.

This shavette is mild and easy to learn with compared to others. It takes a full or half DE blade. It has less blade exposure compared to others, with a large wedge, making it mild and easy to learn with.

I have purchased several straight razors and none of the are as good this one. Actually this are excellent, the size the weight, perfect balance. I’m so pleased with his product I recommend it any time...
