Buy Original shaving soap stick LEA 40 gr on desertcart.com ✓ FREE SHIPPING on qualified orders Review: Great value for travel or every day. - Gives a close, smooth shave that leaves skin soft, typical of tallow/lanolin shave soaps. Not foamy but rather produces a rich, slick, flat lather. Excellent with a good boar brush. Smells good…just a light clean soap fragrance. Great travel or daily stick that will last a long time. Review: Lea. A classic and a staple - As the title says. Gotta love the lanolin. Stick is compact, have no problem loading brush or just applying to face. My wire hair tends to pull a lot of soap off, even as firm as it is, so its usually brush loaded. That way i get it a little more even. However when i do apply direct, even just sparingly, i get enough for several passes and the lather just bursts from my face. Rinses easier if you just load the brush, especially if you do it at the sink vs the shower.. Rinsing is always easy in the shower. No bad smells, fairly mild sweet yet clean, much like the old unscented tallow soap bars uses to be.

Great for Travel and Home
Perfect for travel. I use a Muhle Travel brush and this soap, and its nice. Pleasant fagrance, and lathers as good as foam from a can. I will never go back to foam in a can or tube.

Bargain Price...Pro Performance
I purchased this as a travel soap primarily but now use it exclusively. The price can't be beat compared to other shave sticks available online. There are a few negative comments on this product elsewhere online, but It would seem to me, these are from people unfamiliar with shave sticks. Using a brush once it's applied to your face is key. The lather is thick, not an overpowering scent, and lubricates well. The packaging is also a huge plus, as it protects the stick, and allows it to dry after use with no problems. Well worth checking out before dropping more than a few dollars on a shave stick.

Great product— you do need a brush
I like the glide this gives me, and the lanolin is nice on my skin. I found that if I applied this without a brush, it didn’t lather up as nicely (hence 4 stars). Definitely worth using a brush. UPDATE: Got a brush, and also figured out what to do to improve the lather.

Lea is becoming the King of Soap Sticks in my Rotation!
Over the past few years I’m keeping a full beard most of the year. Soap sticks are efficient when I’m just shaving a neck patch, traveling, or dealing with day to day rush. While I love whipping a bowl of luxurious lather - it’s not always doable and can be wasteful. Early on in my wet shaving exploits, I went all-in on the “king” of soap sticks, Arko. There’s just something charming about that red, mid-century style packaging with the generic fifties Don Draper ‘kinda dude. Arko looks like it came in the glovebox of a ‘57 Bel Air. The scent is how I’d perceive the complimentary generi-bar would smell in similarly dated Route66 or Penna. Turnpike Motor Lodge. Others have waxed poetically similar about Arko, but it is also a soap that delivers the goods. With some practice and prep -yields a slick copious lather for a great shave. I loaded up once on a dozen sticks and also used Arko to spread the gospel of wet shaving among friends and family. I always considered Arko a very neutral “soapy” soap scent as far as shave soaps are concerned. Would generally pair with an aftershave like “The Veg”, Witch Hazel, Cella, a Citrus Lime A/S, or None at all. NOW ENTERS LEA STICK. I assume many in these male dominated hobbies of flavor & varietal exploration like me have a cellar. Could be wine, bourbon, cigars, pipe tobacco, etc. Wet shaving is similar. Much to the consternation of their significant other, one may have a large variety and multiples of specific brands that take up space and are really not necessary but bring us great acquisition pleasure and please the squirrel-acorn mentality. In such cellar are items not being used frequently or at all. Two Lea sticks were in the back I kept for travel, and thought I’d use eventually. While Arko was a standard for me, I’ve recently noticed a slight burning irritation. Not just Arko, but some products whose Ph just didn’t feel so great on my skin anymore. It isn’t blades, brush, technique, aftershave, storage. Just my skin. I decided to use one of the Lea sticks last month while traveling. It does all my old standby does and then some. I consider it a worthy successor. Lea’s fragrance is subtle to non-existent for this nose. Packaging is uninteresting but who cares. I give great accolades to the plastic container. It protects the soap but also has drying holes. This is fantastic as it protects the soap and ensures it doesn’t get slimy and waterlogged. It foregoes the need for an aftermarket twist holder I’ve bought for other sticks. This is fantastic as it is more compact as well. Lea yields a lather with less brush work for me as long as one supplies sufficient H20 - key to soap stick use, I find Lea’s lather a bit less slick but more cushiony than Arko. Haven’t investigated ingredients, but I’d say it’s a toss up for me. It feels less acidic on my face and I am seeing no irritation & getting comparable shaves as Arko. The final test occurred this weekend in a rural area. The hotel water was hard with a capital “H”. Shampoo and soap felt like nothing was happening in the shower. Undaunted, I went on to my shave with an old Edwin Jagger travel brush made of some tough-ass black badger. The Lea really performed and kicked up a great lather. In my opinion better than Arko. Your mileage may vary, but this is my stick of choice now. It performs where a stick is the shave soap of choice & requires no mods whatsoever to deploy.

Smells good and easy to use
This is my first experience with shaving soap. I have used creams and then shave gels for most of my life so it took me a little while to get the hang of it, but once I did, I like it. It would be best to change your shaving technique to a LIGHT touch b/c this is not as thick as shave gel...I have been using Edge for years if not decades. As an experiment, I went back to the gel for a day and badly cut myself since I needed a much heavier touch due to the thickness of the gel. For reference, I use a Mach 3. Just apply the soap in light thin strokes so it does not clog up your razor. The reason I shifted to shave soap is much less messy and will not explode in my toiletries bag when I travel (this has happened to me...quite messy). Finally, this product smells nice and is not heavy or musky.

surprisingly good
i used this on a week's holiday and it was brilliant - saved me taking a big tub of my usual shaving soap and i really don't like just buying a can of shaving foam when i get there because of the environmental impact. it lathers up really well for a nice shave. smells good and it is incredibly cheap. there's a lot of plastic included in the container, which is a bit of a bummer but it dries and hardens properly and i expect it'll last for many a trip, so all in all it's a good buy.
