Beware - make sure to update firmware before flying.
UPDATE:I've changed from 3 stars to 5 for a few reasons. After posting my original review Target Hobby reached out to me and offered to give me a partial refund to help replace one of the ESCs in my batch. They'd read my review and assumed one of the ESCs was defective and went out of their way to try and fix it. I really do appreciate that, so have given another star for that desire to stand behind what they sell.I didn't accept the credit though. Fact is, the ESCs are all fine. The only issue was that one of the ESCs had weird firmware. This wasn't an issue, just a concern. I always ensure my ESCs have the same settings and firmware when building a new quad and the odd ESC had no problems getting flashed with new firmware. Now that the ESCs have been updated and installed, they work fine. On a 3S setup the motors and ESCs are barely warm after running them through a full 1350mah battery.I've also looked closely at the original BlueSeries 12A ESCs and they look totally different than these ESCs. These use IR M830 MOSFETs which IR claims can handle 40 amps at 30 volts. I assume they'll do fine with 15 amps at around 14 volts.Original Review:There's a problem with this particular combo. This combo used to contain 12A ESCs, and you'll read in answers to questions that those were replaced with 15A ESCs. I have my doubts about that claim.I hooked up the ESCs to the BLHeliSuite app and these ESCs, which have stickers on them saying they're 15A, are detected in BLHeliSuite as being BlueSeries 12A ESCs.To be clear, the only certainty here is that these ESCs have the BlueSeries 12A ESC firmware installed. It's possible they are in fact 15A ESCs with the wrong firmware. But it could also mean that they just put a different sticker on the same ESCs and are assuming consumers won't notice or care. It's not like you can trust that ANY cheap 15A ESC can actually handle 15A - there's no standard, no governing body, no trustworthy way of really knowing. There was one other oddity too - three of the ESCs had the same version of BLHeli firmware, but one of them had a totally different firmware on it - not even BLHeli. If you buy this combo pack you absolutely must make sure to reflash them so they have consistent firmware versions. You risk damaging your quad, or worse, yourself, if you ignore this step. Finally, the overall combo is fine. The motors don't seem cheap, they each come with plenty of M3 screws and a hex tool. The reverse threaded shafts are a bit larger in diameter than the normal threaded shafts. That just means props might need to be screwed on instead of just sliding onto the shaft - not a big deal.

Good price bundle.
I've only used the motors to replace some on my 250 quad along with some 20A esc's. Works great and very smooth flights after adjusting some PIDs. Seems a lot quieter than my older motors with similar results. Only reason for 4 stars are because on both CCW motors I've had a hard time installing and removing propellers(not exaggerating). The shafts seem to be too tight and I've actually broken a couple props just trying to take it out. I use Gemfan 5030 and some Dal 5045 and both have the same results. No, I'm not some noob to flying these things and propeller removal has never been such an issue before. The ESC's have not been hooked up yet as they are spares for another quad.

Not What I Thought
I bought this kit for an on-the-cheap quad. Seemed like some decent reviews so I purchased them. Disappointing to say the least. Power output is about average for this size motor (on 3S), nothing remarkable. ESC's are generic, not bad, they seem to do the job OK, but did not try to flash or see if BLHeli would actually run on them (says BASED on BLHeli firmware), The motors, now that's another story. Horribly out of balance, so much that the whole frame shakes (props off). I disconnected each motor and just ran one at a time, and each one was out of balance. The bearings, while seemingly tight statically, sounded like gravel when spun up. I don't know if I got Friday night quitting time specials or what, but I have 14 Drones built of various sizes, motors, and such, and NONE have this type of quality control. Do they work? Yes, they spool up, they will lift the vehicle of the ground and fly. If you want something cheap as a first home build and don't care if it flies away or gets totaled in a crash, these are for you. Just make sure your F/C is well isolated from vibrations. AS for the seller, the items were shipped satisfactory and undamaged. Had no problem with them, but I have not contacted them about this item, either.

Good but not the best
These motors are great for the price and don't get me wrong I am happy with them. However two motor shafts have a variance on the threads. This causes props to have to be threaded on while the other two they fall onto. Tested with multiple props and verified. Also if you are soldering direct to board you will have to cut the wires to different lengths. No issue but makes it tricky if you need to swap 2 leads to adjust the rotation of the motor. Would buy again to build a cheap 210 but not for a 250 again.

Motors and ESC are great, lots of power on 3s.
Great motors so far. I'm impressed with the speed they came to me and the product. One concern I have is the motors make a whistling noise. I am sure it's a magnet on one of them. I will continue to monitor them and see if they fail. It's my sixth build and I just trying different configurations to see what's good and bad out there. Update. So I figured it's one of the motors, that whistle. I'm assuming it was a defective one. I will contact target hobby to see what I can do.

Like I mentioned to another purchaser who had issue with these motors. I could not get them to stop twitching until I used BLHeliSuite. I updated the firmware with zero issues, and then I calibrated the ESC's using BLHeliSuite. I had to set the minimum rpm to 1080, you may have to play around to see what is stable for your set. I set the max rpm to 1920, you may have to adjust that number for your set. After calibrating them in BLHeliSuite, they work perfectly.

Great little motors and ESCs. Lots of power.
Great little motors, lots of power. I just had one little issue. The stater core came lose from the base housing (shown in one of the photos) I was wondering why I saw my wires going into the motor from the ESC wiggling when I spun up the motors. Sure enough, the stator was trying to spin with the commutator. Not a huge deal, just an inconvenience. I epoxied it back together with some high temp epoxy. Good as new after that. Oh, and the ESCs are awesome.
