My hat size is 7-1/2 to 7-3/4, and this is way too small for me. Too tight on my head, and too short top to bottom so that the neck part doesn't want to go under my chin. The good part is that the faux fur is very comfortable and warm.UPDATE: Rarely do I change a review like this, but sometimes it is warranted. Nothing has changed regarding the fit. It's still a bit too tight on my big old head, and it is still too short if the neck piece is supposed to go under the chin, If it is supposed to go across the chin, it is okay. And the face piece doesn't fit quite right, although I have learned to make it fit acceptably by only using the bottom two snaps. But, this hat does one thing so well, that it deserves an upgrade. What is that? This thing is WARM! I mean so warm that you can wear it in 20 degree F weather, and, from your neck up, you won't know that it's 20 degrees. I find myself wearing this hat a lot. While I wish it fit a bit better, it certainly deserves a solid 4 stars and is, I think a very good value.

My boys ride their bikes to school and it has been getting cold in the mornings so they wanted something that would keep them warn. This hat has been great! My boys love that it keeps their heads warm and they like the additional face mask to keep their mouth area warm. As you can see by the picture, it works with glasses too!

There's a lot to like about this hat given the price. It's comfortable, soft, warm. The big problem is that I cannot wear it the way I want to, and I don't understand how it's supposed to be used.You'd think, given what the hat looks like, that it would provide standard ushanka type side flaps, only extending down to your chin and neck. But look carefully. Notice how the vendor-suuplied photos don't show a single person actually wearing it...There's a reason for that -- the neck area just does not work well. It seems to be designed for a really really wide neck. So while the head part fits very well, no matter how tight you adjust the velcro around your neck, it's extremely loose.Maybe people in China wear these along with a very bulky scarf? Or maybe they want it to be loose so it just blocks wind but nothing more? Regardless it's not what I wanted. You're better off with a traditional ushanka hat (that you can tighten round the neck) and a good cahsmere scarf; at least you can arrange the scarf to be as tight as you want.It's a real shame. I had high hopes for this as being exactly the cold outdoor hat I wanted, but sadly no.

Love the hat. After my friends saw it, they want to get one too. Like all the different colors - got one to match my skiing bib. I have a small head. The fit is a tiny bit big, but not overwhelming. I'm going to put a couple of extra velcro strips on the part that goes under the chin so that it wraps more tightly around my neck to help keep it warm. The face guard comes with it but it can be removed completely and it has a vent to prevent condensation and allow you to breathe easily. The face guard has two snaps on each side and is very secure.

Great quality but fits smaller than expected. If you feel you have a larger sized head, I would not order this hat. I absolutely love the overall coverage and feel. I live in remote north Maine and our winters are very cold. This trappers hat conceals my neck and came with a face mask to optiinally wear. It has a split opening so you can breathe easy or even drink through a straw. The quality is very good. I am actually looking forward to raking the heavy snow off my roof which will be an adventure. I ordered the Red and will say that it is more of the "Sun dried tomatoe" red which gives it a pink like hue. Had I known, Id have ordered the bland black so I could wear it with all my gear. Hadvthe size been more true to size for a very average sized womans head... Id have given it 5 *.
