within 3 minutes!!!
I received my trap less then 15 min ago, within 3 minutes my 14 year old son had set the trap and caught the squirrel that was eating my insulation!! we removed him to a safe wooded area and left 4 pounds of nuts for him since winter is fast approaching here in Alaska!!! I'm very glad i bought this item and am telling all my Alaskan friends to get them squirrels can destroy $1000s worth of insulation in no time.

It works, easy to set, release and clean
We have a drop tile ceiling in our basement and have been hearing a ton of activity up there lately. Honestly thought it was a family of squirrels or maybe even a opossum due to how loud and heavy the sounds were. We bought a larger cage trap not being sure what it was and placed it inside our crawl space being this would be how they would have to go in and out to access our basement ceiling and all we caught was our cat and then the neighbors cat! After realizing we were not catching anything but cats and the noise continued I decided to buy a smaller version specifically for squirrels and smaller animals since the cats seemed to be incredibly interested in whatever it was. Literally the easiest trap to set up. Made a tiny peanut butter sandwich and placed it on the hook. Within 2 hours I heard it get triggered! We caught a fairly large rat! I’m truly hoping we don’t have a huge infestation but I can say that it’s been really quite up there and it’s been about 4 hours since the catch. I have reset the trap and placed it in a different part of the ceiling this time. Fingers crossed we catch them all. I highly recommend this trap. It’s easy to set, release the critter and clean. I didn’t feel like the rat could attack me through it and it is very well made. It would definitely be big enough for a average size squirrel or large rat.

Caught a dozen critters
The mice and rats around my house have learned to stay away from snap traps and glue so this method worked really well so far. The brown paint keeps the cage looking nice. My only complaint would be the flimsiness of the wire holding the trigger in place. I had a mongoose get trapped and it broke the trigger in its struggle to escape.

Don’t buy
Didn’t work, these things haven’t caught one thing other than dust. They close very easily so any slight movement closes the gate preventing it from letting anything in

Works Well
I was having issues with chipmunks and these traps are doing the trick. These traps are easy to use and so far have caught chipmunks, mice and flying squirrels. The only thing that I don't like about it is the bait holder. It's just a hook and you can't use something like dog or cat food or peanuts as there is no way to attach it to the hook. I found I had to used a small piece of block cheese as it was the only thing that I could put on the hook and squish on there to hold it in place.

I returned it.
I used this one and another model of traps.I captured 4 mouses and none of them were captured by this trap. The whole point of this trap is to capture the mouse alive and free it in the nature and that brings me to another reason why I don’t like this product: when the door closes, it makes a loud sound of 2 metals hitting each other which can easily cause a heart attach for the mouse. So for me this is a no.

Fantastic
We bought these to relocate a family of chipmunks that are destroying our flower beds and driving our dogs crazy. I set them up which was very easy and within 15 minutes we had a chipmunk in each trap and they both were happily released unharmed in a beautiful bush on the other side of the river. Hoping to relocate the rest of the family tomorrow in the same way.

Catching chipmunks, mice and squirrels
I’m happy with these. Squirrels are a little big for them once inside, but they do get caught in them. I managed to catch 2 mice in the same trap once. These traps make relocating these critters easy.
