EDIT: 10/03/2021:I changed my review to 4-5-stars because after getting over the hump of how to operate the APP (the directions could be better.. especially the part about needing to hold a button for 3-sec to delete), and understanding that if you unplug it, the APP loses its marbles (to reset the APP, using the APP to turn it on or off [to where it should be] seems to restore the program timers).. Also, the MIXJOY did not seem affected by the “flicker” power hits that would reset my Roku/TV or my Internet (needs longer power interruption)..LIGHT APP:After using the MIXJOY about 6-weeks, I really like the APP that controls the lights, because of the flexibility.SIMULATE DAYBREAK:I don’t know if this matters but I read it shocks the plants when grow lights suddenly come on full blast.. So, I was able to use the light controller to make it dim when the lights first turn on to simulate the sun coming up (IE: starting at 15-20% brightness to simulate dawn light, then 30-60 min later pop it up to 50%, etc)..SIMULATE SUN TRAVELING ACROSS THE SKY:Another thing I tried was to simulate the sun traveling across the sky (the spider light in the middle, with a MIXJOY on either side).. I set the timer for the MIXJOY on the right (to pretend it is the sun in the east) to turn on 15% before any other lights come on.. Then increase to %30-40 with the second timer.. Around 10am %80-90 brightness.. Another 30-60 minutes the manual timer turns on the spider in the middle (all 3 lights as bright as it’s going to get.. to simulate mid day sun).. Since Ive got three lights for a 24x48 grow tray I don’t need to turn the lights on %100, so they should last longer.. I’m not sure if this scenario was working because the lights needed to be somewhat high up (my cilantro is finicky as hell, so I reverted to the scenario above to simulate daybreak).TIMERS:You get 10-timers, which allow 5 on/off cycles.. Anytime you make a change it’s probably easier to delete and start over because setting the timers will conflict with the other timers and you get stuck.. INITIAL TIMER SETUP: Used the iPhone camera to look at the bar-code-thing which automatically brings up the app.. When I added a second light I repeated this, and ended up with two “things” in the app.. I had to turn the lights on/off to figure out which APP widget went with which light (then I named them).. After getting used to the timers this part is pretty easy..VEG/FLOWER/ALL BRIGHTI have not played with the VEG/FLOWER/ALL BRIGHT settings, probably because I’m not growing pot (whomever is listening).. Actually I don’t know what plants need the flower power light, but I am starting a midget tomato plant in with my herbs (getting the same light), so if it doesn’t flower itself with “all-bright” light I can try the flower light (I suspect flower would speed up flowering, but I don’t want my herbs to flower.. or my cilantro to bolt.. But the option is there if I wanted flower light..The light output is more pleasing to the eye, and I can feel more heat on my hand than either bestva or spider brands, but I’m not a plant, LOL.. It hasn’t been long enough to tell, but the plants seem happy under the MIXJOY, the spider or BESTVA. I’ll update next season if I notice anything..NEGATIVE STUFF:❶ The APP needs better directions.. Initially the timer was not working (I had to email for help.. So it took 2-3 days to get going.. holding a button for 3-sec is too long to be intuitive.. maybe because im over 60)..❷ When setting the timers, YOU CANNOT SEE THEM!.. Specifically after the third timer, there is background decoration that exactly matches the timer text (making the text invisible). You can see the timers only by scrolling up/down which is a PITA and distraction (and the scroll is limited, so you have to “sweat-it” by moving the text and hope you can make out the numbers as it’s moving thru the decorations)..❸ The APP stops operating the lights after a power fail (as mentioned above).. I was told because there is no battery.. And sure enough I would not want a battery (because they eventually corrode and can damage the electronics). I would think a capacitor could hold the APP memory, I don’t know..❹ The hardware to hang the light was not as nice as the bestva or the spider (specifically it was difficult to get the #4 clips onto the aluminum light)..In my initial review the app-issue carried a lot of weight in removing stars, because I wanted to automate my system so I can go on vacation once in a while. But I’ve decided worst case scenario I don’t think this would kill my plants the way it would if the irrigation pump stopped working.. Since it’s not happening every week it’s a low priority now (but who knows maybe it will happen during the rainy season when the power flickers a lot).ORIGINAL:Sorry, 3-stars because there needs to be an option to use a “dependable” timer like other lights (see below).. The light part is very good, but the flaky APP is borderline dealbreaker..I don’t think anyone’s review of the lights are meaningful unless a head-to-head comparison was done on how the plants grow. In the last few months I’ve bought a spider, a bestVA and the mixJoy (100w each).I am not a plant but the mixed joy seems to have the most pleasing light, and I can feel the warmth on my hand most like sunlight. I intend to move my plants around and will edit in a few months if I notice plants doing better under one of these lights.. The bestVA seems the dimmest of the three (I’m going to use it for the seed starting table).THE APP (controls the light):In 5-minutes I could turn the light on/off, and switch to the diff light options. But it took 3-days to get the timer working. The directions were bare-bones, so I emailed the seller who told me to delete the timer and make another one. Then I couldn’t figure out how to delete the timer (another email).. The APP buttons seemed unresponsive.. The trick was you need to hold your finger on it “twice” as long as any other APP I have used in the past, before you get the choice to delete. Once I deleted the timer (and set it again exactly the way I did the first time) it started working correctly..Then a few days later the light didn’t turn off when it was supposed to. I shut it off manually and it resumed normal operation..Then a few days later the same thing happened again..This is just a bad sign imho, since Ive been using 4-timers (lights, pumps, fan, etc) for over a month and they have been rock solid and dependable.The flaky APP controller is a border one dealbreaker for me. I’m trying to set up a home herb garden that can be left alone for 2-weeks, if god-forbid.. I go on a vacation.They really need to have a manual mode so a separate timer can be used (like other lights).

The media could not be loaded.  Sylstar - MaxiJoy GL4000 is by far the best LED light I have used! It weights just 25Lbs and its actual power consumption is 450W at full brightness. It can output 30% more than other LED lights efficacy and 50% less power consumption than MH/HPS. It comes with 2 hanging kits with carabiner and adjustable rope hangers. I had to write this review to make sure people understand this LED light.When they say "full spectrum" that's what they mean! With 1256 Samsung LM301 LEDs, including Red/IR/UVA I can now control and induce root growth, plant, growth and flowering. Awesome!My previous light is a Mars Hydro TS1000 (150w) and you had to use a manual timer or a bluetooth device plug in order to turn it off and on. But the GL4000 is a Smart Control Grow Lamp with Dimmable, Group, and Timing functions operable via cell phone bluetooth (although this could be a double-edge sword if bluetooth circuitry goes bad or you don't have a cell phone.) I would still like to see a manual dimming switch.This light defuses heat very well. At half its intensity it is not as hot as the Mars Hydro at full intensity. Although, at high intensity locked up in a small area a lot of heat is generated and it would be necessary to monitor and control your Temperature.This company was easy to communicate with. When I contacted them to report that the box had arrived opened and very banged up they promptly responded and offered options to cure possible long time negative impact to the light. The fact that this light is a 5x5 instead of a 3x3 made a big change in how many plants I can service at any one time. I am very happy with the quality, features, and function of this light.

The media could not be loaded.  Good value for the money! Amazing app for the controls! This size will go a 2x2 tent and I'm currently in the middle of a great grow! I'm supwe excited to see what the larger light will do with my 4x4 tent. This stands up to all competition which was very surprising. I did a few tests on my phone's to see the power of the light and it exceeded some of the specs from competitors! Check the reviews you'll see tons of great feedback! The gl1000 will definitely not let you down the first thing I think when I opened the product was quality! Brightness is excellent and the value for the money is off the charts! Totally easy to use as well some serious thought was put into the app!

I have deleted my original review after realizing my mistakes. I somehow set up a time schedule in the APP and it caused the light to turn off, when it should have been on. I am not a big fan of the app control, and would much prefer a on/off switch, with a dimmer! But after much deliberation I decided the light will do what is needed so I will not be returning it. It is a nice looking light and I'm sure there are plenty that will make use of the app, but I have it set to albright and locked so its controlled by the light its daisy chained too. Def good value, no doubt.

The UV LEDs are a great addition to an already great gl4000 board .The App is easy to install on your iPhone, and I Couldn’t be happier with this light. You can set up the easy to use Timer and dimmer and you even have the option to change the lighting spectrum. This light is incredibly easy to use and is currently my favorite light on the market. I’ve used a number of brands. You want beat Mixjoy for the price. I’m certain of that. I’ve got 3 Mixjoy 4000s, and I’ll just keep adding more as I expand. I’m sold on this brand.

This is my second light I buy and I have no complain is very good.The package arrive in good condition, was inside another box that make the item even more safe for shipping.The light it is dimmable and give you the ability to change setting between vegetative mode, flowering mode and all bright everything just using your phone, I just love the system, you can even set up timing and other function using the app. The light is build very well, has great eat dissipation and very good led light, full spectrum and contain even UV led great for the plant. Compare this light with spiderfarm light i will say this is great for the price and function and also because the UV led and the app make this light for my personal opinion the best for money and Im very satisfy and the plant love it. I highly recommend this product for begin to profession grower you will not regret it.

App is easy to use, spectrum is great and lights really bright. Super easy to setup. Great value for the money. Been running this light for 3months.

I love everything about this light. Sure it doesn't have the more even spread of light like bar lights do, but I'm thinking it's reliability will be better. I have a Mars Hydro fc6500 that is 30% to 40% dimmer on one side than it is on the other. You can't really tell by eye especially in a reflective grow tent but when you put a par meter under it it becomes obvious. I spoke to an online LED grow light seller and he told me that the quantum boards are much more reliable then bar lights. The app for this is a great idea and the quality of everything seems to be pretty good. When it was on sale it was a steal.
