Q: Can this be used to air seal junction boxes?

Yes, this silicone sealant can be used to seal junction boxes.

Q: Any idea on how many 10.3oz tubes I should use for a chimney insert and top plate? Would 1 tube suffice?

I purchased two and I based my decision on my experience of caulking tubs. Our fireplace is hand quarried stone so it isn't as uniform as modern built fireplaces. Also, Lee in mind, that I was using the caulk for fireplace glass doors and not an insert.

Q: Can I use this to install stacked stone inside a metal firebox

Not sure. It does work good as high temp adhesive though in my opinion.

Q: Is this a non Petroleum based silicone? If so will it work with a cast iron boiler?

Yes, this silicone is not petroleum-based and will work on a cast-iron boiler as long as the temperatures do not exceed 500-degrees F.
