Q: Can this product be applied directly to roots/regrowth? Will it show up?

This is additive for a direct dye, not a dye itself. However, if you have naturally level 8 or lighter hair it may make your roots darker. The intended use for this product is for it to be added to a lighter direct dye to deepen the tone. It is very pigmented but I don't believe it would be a consistent result if used as a direct dye, as an additive it made for a streaky result.

That's unfortunate, perhaps they have misstocked the product at the warehouse. You should include these comments in a "wrong item" return request.

No need to use developer with the color itself. If you want it lighter than the color shown, then mix it with pravana pure white or some regular hair conditioner to dilute it.

Q: Will I get a nice red velvet if I mix this with Pravana's red hair dye?

If you would like to use to deepen a color you want to be very careful. Use as little as possible. This is a very deep black color. I will recommend to put the red direct dye on the bowl first and add one drop at a time of the black, mix and swatch on a paper towel before applying to prepped hair.
