Looks great, circulates air well in our three-season room
I had this fan installed in our 14' x 20' three-season room. We didn't need a fan that was decorative or ornate; we just wanted a fan that looked good and was well built. And because we have can lights in the ceiling of the room, we didn't need a fan/light fixture combination. This fan fit the bill. Our three-season room is only one story tall but it has a vaulted ceiling (see my photos), so we did need to purchase a 24" downrod to bring the fan down so it wasn't too high above the floor and to give the blades clearance from the ceiling: Emerson CFDR2ORB Ceiling Fan Downrod, 24-Inch Long, Oil Rubbed Bronze The fan is the perfect size for our 14' x 20' room: it provides just enough air circulation without being too "windy." The blades are plastic, not wood, but they don't look cheap at all. The room is covered and screened in with vinyl windows we can open and close, so it does get exposure to humidity and temperature swings, but it is certainly rated for these conditions and has had no problems in its first year.I do strongly suggest getting a remote control for this fan, as it is really nice to be able to adjust the speed without having to get out of your chair (first world problems, right?), and you won't have to use the extender on the long pull chain, which can hang down and look unsightly (just my opinion). We purchased this one and it works fine: Emerson Ceiling Fans SR400, 4-Speed Ceiling Fan Remote Control with Receiver We are very happy with this fan so far after its first year.

I was very pleased at how stable this fan is
This fan was a huge upgrade in appearance over the builder-grade fan that we replaced. The fan has quiet and stable operation.Installation took me about an hour. There is a lot of light assembly to be done, ranging from attaching the blade holders to the motor housing to attaching the blades to the blade holders. Once you have the assembly done, you simply hoist the entire fan up a ladder and into the ball joist and do the wiring. It's as simple as any other ceiling fan I've dealt with.I was very pleased at how stable this fan is. There is not the slightest hint of wobble when operating at any of the three speeds.Because it is rated for outdoor/humid areas, the blades are made of plastic and there are extra seals around some of the openings. My only criticism is that I have this hanging from a 10' ceiling and the fan adjustment chain is way to short. Other than that, this is a great fan.

Absolutely a piece of garbage! Installed two of these under our covered pavilion ...
Absolutely a piece of garbage! Installed two of these under our covered pavilion on our patio. On one of them all the blades have snapped off but one, and on the other two blades have snapped off. These were only installed two months ago, and with the exception of turning them on to make sure they worked properly, never even used them. They maybe just fine as an indoor fan but certainly not for outdoor use, which they claim to be rated for. Absolutely the worst purchase we’ve ever made!

REALLY!?!? A 1/2” DOWN ROD???
I’m not a fan of products that move away from “Industry Standards” without warning. There wasn’t a mention of the down rod having a 1/2” diameter. This isn’t something I would have ever thought to check, since 99% of the fans seem to have and every fan I’ve installed has definitely had a 3/4” down rod. Sooooo, when I went to both Home Depot and Lowe’s trying to find the longer down rod, guess what? That’s right! No 1/2” rods ever, and I mean ever in stock. Couple that with no literature of any kind in the package and I’m beyond pissed!

Easy install, very quiet
All of the installation directions were very clear and made installation very easy. Once installed, the fans operate well, with no wobble, and very quietly. This fan is a huge improvement over the one it replaced.
