Not many black boots like this out there, this to are the best to me.the sole is very durable and comfortable. The leather is very soft but resistant

I've had these boots since 2015 and I've abused them so hard. I used them primarily working at restaurants and kitchens in the food service industry. I'd wear these boots all day and then late into the night. After work I'd keep my boots on and work on my car doing general maintenance or repairs. I've honestly abused my boots so hard and never really properly took care of them.Here we are 2022 and the boots are still relevant and comfy. One thing I would like to mention is when I first bought the shoes I got an insert (Dr Schols) and used that instead of the stock insert. Why? I don't remember why I switched it out but it was more comfortable doing so. Since I've had the shoes I replaced the insert twice.The bottom of my boots are pretty worn and no longer have tread but I really put a ton of miles on my boots and I'm honestly surprised they last as long as they do. I've also abused these boots very hard. Some notable accomplishments I've done:* When I was a dishwasher I put my boots through the conveyor dishwasher to "clean" them as a joke.* Cleaned my boots weekly in the dish room using the retractable sprayer cleaning the gunk off the sides and bottom of the boots.* Worked front end of the restaurant and challenged oil resistance and slip resistance of the gore-tex* Actually got automotive oil on them while working on my car* Carelessly walked through puddles of water when it floodedI've honestly been a trailblazer to these boots and never took care of them properly but they are still very functional. The grip at the bottom is mostly gone and so I was looking into getting a new set and just couldn't help but write a review.These were my first Ariat boot and they have survived 3 restaurants and joined me in my adventures through college. Now that I've graduated college I want to get a new set for a comfy office job and treat them better. I love how durable these boots are.

I do like the boots but I usually wear hiking boots. Timberland type stuff. Very comfortable right out of the box. These were horrendous when I first put them on. VERY tight around the top of my feet even though the toe fit was fine. I almost returned them but I searched for advice on breaking in boots and it seems there are two camps. One says western boots should be comfortable from the first wearing and the other has elaborate ways to "break them in". I took a chance and wore them in the house for short periods for several days. They loosened up considerably and are now pretty comfortable. I bought some leather conditioner but I haven't used it yet. I think this will soften them even more. I don't have enough experience with western boots to give a blanket opinion. Maybe there is a pair somewhere that I would fall in love with on first wearing. It was a wrestling match to get these on and off the first time. Now, no problem. One slight problem is that so far I can't wear them with my orthotics. Maybe down the road. Pros and cons, but I am keeping them. Very nice leather and well made. I just think that hiking boots are generally more comfortable and suitable for casual everyday wear.

Get a full size smaller or at least half a size smaller than you normally wear.I originally bought these in a US10 (what I wear in every other shoe) and they were just too big. Very long and loose.Returned and got a 9.5, they were still long and loose. The 9.5 in these boots is still bigger than a 10 in both other steele toe boots and sneakers. Also the factory foam inserts suck. Replace them ASAP with different ones.Otherwise very good looking and seemingly high quality work boots.

Make my feet bleed. Ordered a 10 Wide. On every other pair of ARIAT’S, a size Wide =10 D. / So instead of paying for and receiving a 10D, I received a 10EE.- I was really hoping I wouldn’t half to return these, because I needed them for work, like right away. Honestly, I really thought that I could break these in or purchase Ariat inserts if need be; however, There is no solution when you received the wrong size. Especially when they are steel toed Boots, i’ve tried every trick in the book. Nothing helped. I have tried literally everything. Nothing can get these things comfortable.- I couldn’t even wear them for 15 minutes the first day of working in these.There is no solution when you've received the wrong size, and the company refuses to listen or try to make it right. No comfort. Not tight, but not lose / ALL WRONG. Especially when they are steel toed I have tried literally everything. Nothing can get these things comfortable. I have done multiple tricks / nothing works..BLISTER CITY. AND I’m the Mayor. NOW THERES PROBABLY NO WAY OF RETURNING THEM. -THESE ARE WAY TOO WIDE- I should have received a 10D. Not a 10EE. These things crush both feet. Blisters on the tops. Sides. And bottoms of both feet. Even with inserts. & or the arch inserts, just make it worse. I have a cheaper pair / non steel toe / with a better thicker & way more stronger sole...? So...? The sole these come with is a joke. They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO thin, They are Thinner than tennis shoe soles. The metatarsal area, (Tops) of both feet, touch and rub on the top and sides of the boot and the SteelToe- Honestly, I wore these into a nearby western store, And multiple people assured me that when you order a 10 wide it is 10 D. 10 EE is extra wide or extra extra wide. They are also already torn up and I don’t even really wear them now because I can’t; therefore, I don’t think these are “REAL” ARIAT’s. I literally only wear Ariat Boots. I CANNOT wear these to work. / Useless waste of money.

Size fits perfectly for custome insoles warm for cold days durable for any work water proof will be buying again.

Unfortunately I received the wrong size, I got size 8.5 instead of 9But the material and quality looks good, can’t wait for the right size to arrive so i can try them.
