This is a Universal dock, does not require Alternate DisplayPort feature that only the newer computers *may* have. Look at the Wavlink site for more details. This device is Model: WL-UG39DK3. This will run up to 1 video output at 2K, or 2 video outputs at regular HD. Has 1GB video memory.I like that this dock has separate USB audio jacks for analog out and mic input. Some docks offer a only 4 circuit (TRRS) audio jack. You may need a Y adapter to break out the audio in and out to separate devices. If you have a boom mic with a single TRRS plug then you would need an adapter to work with this model.I am running a single 1920x1020 monitor with built in audio on this device's HDMI port as part of a dual extended screen setup. The main monitor, also 1920x1020 is on the laptop's built in HDMI output. I am also running a USB v2 mic and USBv3 connected and powered Pebble V3 computer speakers.I have run the speakers via the dock's 3.5mm audio output which worked fine, now running them as a USB Audio device. I use these for normal computer audio uses, plus the mic and speakers for amateur radio software define radio. I do not use this for gaming of any type but I do run a lot of windows with radio spectrum graphics. I downloaded beforehand the latest DisplayLink drivers for Windows 10 Pro on a Core i5-8265U HP laptop.The dock station USB Type A plug is extended via a USBV3 SS rated 6ft extension cable, connected to a 20ft long powered USBV3.1 Gen 1 (SuperSpeed 5Gbps, or SS) 8 port hub, which is in turn connected to the USB type A SS V3.1 Gen1 port on a remote laptop located in an adjacent equipment room. All 2018 vintage. No problems. This is over 30ft total. Can unplug the USB to the dock and it recovers fine.I would buy this again. When shopping for one of these docks, you have to pay attention to the DisplayLink chipset used in each product and look at the capabilities chart on the DisplayLink website to sort out what is really possible. Many of these dock products listed on Amazon use a more basic version chip and lack many specifics about their features. There are key differences in the chipset line, in this case, various options of the 3000 series chip line. This dock uses a higher end series 3000 chip, the DL-3900. For 4K you need a higher end chipset. The HDMI monitor I have connected to this dock HDMI port has USB audio speakers that play the HDMI audio info which worked and showed up as Speakers(USB Audio Codec).

After trying another product that was faulty for just 10$ less I thought I would try spending a little more for a solid product. I found this unit and immediately snapped one up. The unit-specific software seems to be a big help for displays. The adapters included with the unit are good added value. My display works well and the added USB ports are great. Portability seems great as of now. Overall a good unit but I think it could be cheaper as should all the rest.

If your looking for a nice, compact, docking station for you laptop, you may want to try this one. It works as advertised and connects to you laptop per USB (HMDI to the laptop is not needed). I personally recommend this device to help anyone that needs a good docking station solution to go the distance. I have used mine everyday for the last 6 months and it has aided me in being very productive. I consider this a “great buy”!

Please don’t buy it. My computer slowed down and started acting like I got virus …….

This was very easy to setup. It is literally plug and play. It worked perfectly for my dual monitor set up. It supports HDMI and DVI video outputs. It even includes a DVI to HDMI adapter, so all you need is a HDMI cable. Just make sure you update your system with the latest driver from WAVLINK. Initially, I didn't and my network speed was slower than it should be. But updating to the latest driver resolved this.I have two laptops, a Dell Latitude 7400 and Acer Aspire R 15 R5-571TG for work and personal use. It works great for both. I can literally just plug in and I am ready to work. Keep in mind it does not provide power over USB-C (if you use a USB-C cable), so you will still need to use the laptop power supply.

Works well if you do not need it to replace your GPU, I use this to add an extra screen and extra USB ports to my setup. Unfortunately this caused my internal GPU to be replaced by the GPU on the box even for the monitor not connected to the box. This causes me to have to disconnect the box anytime I want to do any high intensity gaming. Buck sometimes makes a squeal noise when in sleep mode other than that works really well

This dock works well for the most part with dual monitors and have the advantage of working with regular USB 3 so there's no need USB-C and can be used with older systems.They seem to have a big issue however. I have this and the flat model from this same brand and on random occasions they seem to shut down and on again causing the monitors and other things attached to go off for a few seconds. I have used them with powerful new Laptops and PCs with different devices, cables, and in different buildings/power grids (home and office building) and there seems to be no pattern. They just arbitrarily go off and on sometimes and some days they just work fine.The box also includes a USB-A to C adapter but it is very easy to bend for instance if you move the laptop while connected so don't count on it.

Works perfectly with Windows 10. Download driver, plug it and that's it !
