Griot's Garage BG15 BOSS 15mm Long-Throw Orbital

I use this on a corporate jet to polish the paint, chrome leading edges and woodworking inside the cabin. I’m very new to finish polishing and have had very good results so far.Doesn’t vibrate into the users hand much and is an okay weight so It’s comfortable to use hours at a time.I chose to wear hearing protection because it makes a somewhat harsh noise but I wouldn’t hesitate to use it for a few minutes without hearing protection.I usually base my ratings partially on the price verses performance. This is a very expensive machine. I’m an positive someone could get the same results from a much cheaper tool so I probably should have deducted a few points but this is such a nice tool, everything about it is quality I had to go back to five starts.

When I was in the market for a long throw I had many choices. What sealed the deal was griots garage customer service. Long story short, my 6" GG was acting up and they sent me free replacement brushes and a sample of wax. Minor but speaks volumes! Made my choice much easier and glad I went with it. Much stronger than the 6" (which I'm converting to a 4" backing plate now for tight spots). I paired it with different pads and polishes and it works very well so far! I also have less to worry about knowing griots has my back if it should break. One of the best things is the feel. It's so balanced and smooth but don't be afraid to push down a little to keep the pad spinning. Overall a great product and I got a sweet deal from taro racing here on Amazon.

Great machine that actually works very well at cutting through faded Boat Gelcoat as compared to our rotary Dewalt high power machine.Worth noting, Restoring Gelcoat requires a tremendous amount of cutting, so the Long 21MM throw is revolutionary.The advantages to using this DA style versus rotary...1- It doesn't sling compounds like a rotary,etc, which means it can be used next to another boat and also not have to clean the rugs etc afterwards.2- It can be pushed into a cleat,tight areas and it doesn't violently kick back like a rotary, so much safer and can get to more areas.Well balanced and designed machine, and extras are reasonably priced and with the supplied washer, additional cutting power can attained...though we use it in the Boat Yard with the standard cutting.

Little vibration and very comfortable. It's small so it's easy to stay out of the way and lends itself to a great job. What I did not like about it had more to do with the misleading description. It says its capable of variable speed on each setting, like the way most drills work. This is not the case. On each speed setting, it's either full speed or off. This was a big issue for me and I e ded up returning it. I'm pretty certain you could get a similar product for 1/2 the price and have a comparable end result

I have never used a buffer like this one in my life before. I don't do this for a living but I have always worked on my own truck and car before. The power of the Boss 21 is great it seem like you have a rotary buffer in your hands . After hearing many great things about this polisher, I was curious on how it preformed. My initial impression is the fact that it doesn't hang like my Rupes MK1 did on edges. I also noticed slightly more felt vibrations which isn't a deal breaker what so ever. Overall, for the price I paid. It is definitely the perfect upgrade from my rupes MK1. Pictures are the results of 5 hours of detailing a friend's 95 e36 M3. Used griots fast correcting cream, car pro essence polish and Adam's Ceramic 9H Spray Coating.

I tried the Gloss it 21 first very light but cheep and broke first time I used it. The only reason I don't give the Boss 21 5 stars is its HEAVY but hopefully its because its well built. I Will eventually try there products as well.

Takes a little learning, but keeps you from putting swirl marks in your car as you can do with others without the big throw. Once I mastered using it, (which wasn't hard), it was remarkable what a difference it makes vs. buffing by hand. No comparison. Highly recommend. My black car looks beautiful. shines, shines, shines.
