Simon & Schuster Charmed: As Puck Would Have It

Puck, The Thinking Man's Fairy/Demon
This reader has never read a Paul Ruditis novel. I can't wait to read more from him. Most authors never break the third/fourth wall in a novel by alluding to the actor of the series behind the character. Alyssa Milano, who plays "Phoebe" in CHARMED, had piercings and tons of tattoos during the 6th season. Mr. Ruditis poked fun at her in the novel. Look for it; it will amuse you too.PUCK is a villain/fairy/demon that should have been utilized throughout the series. PUCK is clever, slightly chaotic, scary menacing and he has a perfect understanding of mankind. He runs circles around the Halliwells and the sisters know that they can never outsmart him, so they help him with a clear understanding that they are playing into his hands. Ruditis is the writer you turn to if you enjoy great character development, new characters, not the regulars. The reader will not make head turning discoveries about the Halliwell sisters, but Ruditis thrills you with surprises and delightful storytelling.

As Puck Would Have It (LOVED IT!!!!)
This was definitely one of my favorites in the Charmed book series. I love the Puck character and love everything about this book! It instantly sucks you in and the craziness starts so quickly it is very hard to put down. Highly recommend!

fun read, but lacks the Charming "soap opera" of the series
The Charmed Ones meet up with the mischievous spirit from mythology, Puck, who sends them to the circus to save an innocent: an elephant. The animals are being killed by a mysterious demon, but Phoebe, Piper, and Paige are more concerned with the mysterious and troublesome antics of Puck. The Charmed community has a treasure in the clever and talented Paul Ruditis who spins a well-written spin off with twists and turns while being faithful to the series. The only problem is the story itself is pretty boring, without the soap opera drama that balances the demon-of-the-week stuff of the series. Leo is completely absent, too. Only the truly, deeply faithful Charmed fans should go for this one. Grade: B-
