Saw stand clamps broke. Dewalt said they don't have parts for it. Won't buy another dewalt product again.

The mounting clips for the saw base attachments are made of cheap plastic. One of them broke the first time I mounted and removed my DWS780 saw. This saw weighs 58 pounds and some miter saws weigh even more. Why anyone at Dewalt thought cheap, brittle plastic was an appropriate material for a part that routinely secures and releases massive miter saws is beyond me. It is either a case of incompetent engineering or reckless cost cutting.In case you think my issue is an anomaly, search and you will find there are aftermarket replacement mounting clips that stand owners can buy that compensate for Dewalt's substandard quality.Making design choices like this calls into question the trustworthiness and competence of everything the manufacturer makes. A 12" miter saw is a dangerous beast that can maim or kill people if it and its accessories are not made correctly. It should be built tough to withstand hard use and tested thoroughly for safety and durability. When engineering mistakes are made, the company ought to learn and improve. Instead, Dewalt continues to knowingly sell this flawed product years after it was first released without acknowledging and fixing the problem. As a result (and also do to a separate product safety recall) I decided to return the saw as well as the stand. I just don't trust Dewalt to make tools like this safely after this experience.
