Fluorescent effect appears pH dependent
Fluorescence was weak until it was mixed with some vinegar which amplified the effect.Still, for my application, diet tonic water from the local grocery stored turned about to be just as good or better for providing blue fluorescence. I disposed of this quinine sulfate solution.

I know what quinine is supposed to look like when it
I'm not sure what the excitation frequency is supposed to be, but under a variety of UVA, UVB, and UVC lamps, this solution does not fluoresce at all. next to water, I couldn't tell the difference. I know what quinine is supposed to look like when it glows

Fairly quick arrival. Absorption spectra lower than most over the counter UV light sources. Also pH needs to be adjusted for maximum florescence.
