AcuRite(Color Display) - 02081M Weather Station with Jumbo Display and Atomic Clock

The viewing angle of the display is terrible. You can only read the numbers and letters if you are looking from a specific angle. With today's LCD technology, I have not idea how this product can be rolled out.My other problem is the temperature sensors, outside and inside. Both numbers are showing higher than it really is. Especially the indoor temperature sensor. I used a mercury thermometer to compare and the AcuRite is off my 3 degrees Celsius.The temperature aspect could be due to malfunction of the sensors. So it might not happen to another unit. However, the display is the main deal breaker for me. I do not recommend this product.

After the 10-day-learning startup, the future forecast has been amazingly accurate. I had to build a breathable enclosure for the outside unit - as it should not be exposed to direct sunlight or rain - for accurate temps and forecast. It took a day for the satellite time to be picked up, but once connected, it has remained very accurate. The display is in my bathroom near the window closest to the outside unit - and serves as a great night light at night in that room!!

I gave this a three star for Warmth, just because I have no idea what the connection between 'Warmth' and this device is. I leave it plugged in all the time because as far as I can determine that is the only way it really works. This gives an added advantage of being a nightlight because it is very bright at night in a large room. For the rest it is accurate and seems to be working fine.

The display is wonderful and so is the accuracy of the weather. The BIG BUT is it does not run on batteries. The batteries are for back-up only. It has to be plugged in. Not what I got from the description. I'm sure if they made that very clear, no one would buy it. I know I certainly would not have purchased it. Found a new home for it where it can be plugged in.

I bought it to replace the last Acurite that stopped working, they only last 2-3 years.It was to sit on the eye level shelf the old one was on. Here’s the problem, when it sits on the shelf or hangs on the wall the numbers on the display disappear! You can only see them when it is facing the floor! I have a twist tie around the nail to hold it so you can see it.There is nothing to adjust the display angle and no support number to call so I will probably return it.This isn’t quality stuff…
