I bought one of these in a name brand for a ton more. I bought these for my boys, and I would have been happy to have bought all three. I didn't look for a generic one, I'd never seen them before. We just used it on a 10-15 degree F campout and were quite pleased. I can't speak to the durability, but it seems ok (we're only going to do a few cold weather campouts per year, and I would expect this to last for years).

I wouldn’t call it stylish however, when outdoor temperatures drop well below zero this is a dream come true head covering!

This thing is warm. Like 40 below warm. Great buy. Lightweight and easy to carry in pockets.

I bought this piece of gear last minute for a winter backpacking trip. The temperature got down to 10F. I used this in conjunction with a Kelty 40f sleeping bag, inside an Enlightened Equipment 30f backpacking quilt and slept on a Nemo Tensor Insulated pad. I also had Enlightened Equipment sleep booties to keep the toes warm.This hood came in extremely handy, especially while using a backpacking quilt which has no hood. This kept me super warm down to those temps and I believe I would have been cold without it. It packs down super small and weights close to nothing. There are drawstrings you can synch down for a tight custom fit. It's not the best construction and I already see some feathers coming out of it from the seams but for the price, you can't beat it.If you're looking for a cheap down hood to keep you warm while winter backpacking, I would recommend this product.

It's a great item, given it's use. Seems kind of cheap because it's so lightweight, but it's actually made pretty well and I'm getting some good use out of it this winter. It washes up pretty well, and I generally tumble it for a few minutes to release the wrinkles before hanging to dry. Works great.

This is all I need. Super soft, comfortable, warm.I used it to sleep warm. Not needed in my area in the day time.Great to have in the car in case you get stranded even in milder climates.
