All About Mom and Me: A Journal for Mothers and Daughters

Precious gift!
My daughter just turned 10, but we started it a few months back before her birthday. It’s our special thing that we do only for us. Sister isn’t part of it. Daddy isn’t part of it. Just us! We don’t do it in order, it’s nice that it can be done any way you want. We use two post-it notes to bookmark pages. One for the entry we are doing now, and one for the entry she wants us to do next. Sometimes we pass it back and forth every day, sometimes a week or two will be in between. As an example of our process, there was an entry for mom to draw her dream house and the adjacent page for the daughter to draw her dream house. My daughter picked that for me to do first. When I was done, I put it in our special hiding spot so she knew it was her turn. I have a post it note labeled “finished” so she can easily find the page I just did and what she will work on. Then there is a second post it note labeled “what’s next?” so she can bookmark the page for me to do next. She leaves the “finished” one on the page she just filled out so I can go back and see what she wrote or drew.An unexpected bonus of this journal- she has also used it to write in the margins about things she is nervous or embarrassed to tell me in person. It is a safe place for her to share things in a way that is more comfortable than saying out loud. I love that we will be able to look back on these “conversations” for many years to come.

Connecting and reflecting
My 8 year old daughter wants my attention at times that just isn’t always feasible. I am a full time 40+hr a week nurse, type A, single mother of 3, and just like majority of moms out there I’m always worried I’m not doing everything possible to connect and show love to my kids, in between the 138301 other duties. I purchased this book to help us connect at more convenient times. I complete my page and address her response anytime during the day and hand it back (or leave it in her bed) at bedtime, she returns it to my nightstand the next morning. It’s working very well. The only suggestion I have would be to add blank pages for unprompted discussions, like if she had a tough day she might want to write out. Overall we love it.

Excellent bonding book
My 10 year old daughter and I love this book! It’s so much fun to learn about each other and I’ll be getting a few for gifts as well. We like to randomly pick a page and then we write in each of our sections. We then read each other’s out loud. Lots of laughs and follow up conversations from it

A must have for moms and daughters
My daughter and I were looking for something to pass the time since until more people are vaccinated we are on self imposed quarantine. We take turns picking a question and then we leave it somewhere for the other to answer. She has been pleasantly surprised by my answers and I’m hoping it’s a fun keepsake for when I move on from this life.

Finally, a well organized keepsake!
I love this book! I purchased three; one for each of us and I plan on ordering a few as gifts! The questions are written in a playful manner allowing us to be genuine while having fun. This book should be recommended for all ages. I think it would be fun to complete at different stages as a keepsake for each one.
