Really glad this healthy herb is available in liquid extract form

Meadowsweet is a good anti-inflammatory. I used it for relief of inflammation in my jaw and gums to good effect. It's not magic, mind you. But it helps. Same active ingredient as aspirin, but less severe on the GI tract.

I don't know how to review the item since I have it but am not going to use it now that I know it is a natural source of aspirin-like molecules. Nothing wrong with the idea of a natural cox-2 inhibitor except for one fact in my particular case: I am highly allergic to aspirin (which we chart in medical terms as ASA) and must avoid contact. The product smells nice and is probably fine for 99% of people. I should have looked it up more closely before purchase. I do not blame the seller and cannot fault the product. However, it might have been nice to see a warning like: "In case of aspirin allergy such as breathing, urticaria, or anaphyllaxis to aspirin in your past, it is best to avoid both PO and dermal contact with meadowsweet." BTW, the product looks good and smells of meadowsweet in the summer, which is very compelling. I remember the accord in the summer heat, a field by my house in Maryland, decades ago. The smell alone is evocative to me of another era now past. Funny how smells do that. Too bad for me personally but the risk is a bit too much for me. I'll give it to somebody so it is not wasted.

Meadowsweet Extract by Herb Pharm is the best brand out there. Others cant compare. Don't go for cheaper brands as they wont work as well. You get what you pay for.
