Worked for my vacuum. My original button wouldn’t stay engaged when I depressed the button. I figured I’d give a home repair a shot before dropping $200 on a new vacuum. Nothing to lose. I took the vacuum apart, got the part number, and order it on two day shipping. It was perfect. Trigger engages and the vacuum stays on. Saved me a ton.

Replacing the old switch with this new one is super easy. Took less than 5 min. Vacuum works like new again and no annoyance with the defect old switch.

My old Hoover vacuum switch needed replacement, it wasn't activating. I looked for a replacement switch online and found a couple of sites that sell them, thankfully Amazon had it in stock with next day shipping! The other sites had 3-5 day shipping time and also charges for it. In this instance, obviously, choosing Amazon was a no brainer.To replace the switch, you would need to remove 3 screws holding the handle shaft from the main body of the vacuum. After pulling it up and off, there are 2 more screws that are holding the switch housing in place. Then gently pry the malfunctioning switch from the switch housing and the electrical connectors. Then just reverse the process. After that, the vacuum should be as good as new.

Hoover replacement switch works - switch is poorly designed however and is prone to failure.

My grandmother has a nice Hoover vacuum, but one day it stopped turning on and off properly. Replacing it with something just as good would have cost $200. There was nothing wrong with the vacuum otherwise, but she had it for 5+ years so that's not a bad deal. I figured it was the fuse, which it was. This fuse goes to the power button on the vacuum. I'm a handy person, so installation of the new fuse was easy for me. It takes a little patience taking the vacuum apart, but is easy for the average person. So far, the fuse has lasted over 7 months or so, and I anticipate it lasting a few years. Overall, this little $7 fuse saved me $200 for a new vacuum.
