Black Label Society: Skullage

It is virtually undisputed that Zakk Wylde is the greatest guitarist alive. With this awesomeness considered, most of the songs that his Black Label Society are known for are contained on Skullage, such as "Bleed For Me," "Suicide Messiah," "In This River," and their first mainstream hit, "Stillborn." It's like they set out to make a greatest hits album in one go and succeeded. I recommend this album to fans of BLS, Pantera, Motörhead, or really any band that has a tendency of stomping colon.

This CD is one of the best purchases I have made this year. All of the songs are great, ranging from pedal to the metal rockers to some of the best guitar ballads. A lot of their hits are on here, not all, but they all fit together nicely for a CD you can listen to for weeks without taking it out of your car stereo. The acoustic versions of the songs are mind-blowing! Buy it now!

I may be in my 60's but I love BLS and the songs Zakk sings and his guitar skills are out of this world. I've been a musician my whole life and I appreciate all kinds of music and always been a fan of Black Label Society!

I give this cd a 5 star rating, but I do have a complaint. My cd case broken.

This disc is a mess. There's like 4 or 5 live tracks then 4 or 5 videos then something about Zaks house or studio i guess and an interview. Mini live acoustic set from Allentown. Frankly I skipped the interview and tracks with piano and or acoustic guitar. If you go to play all, it will cycle thru all available audio/video tracks with skip function enabled. If you go to Videos in the menu, you get the same thing over again but you can't skip forward. This dvd came as a "set" of a damaged original box (big knife slash thru it) and back insert and a replacement box (?) Very strange. The other BLS DVD that is available here is a different band and concert with one video and the mini acoustic set again. I dont know unless they were just throwing money at me, I would as a matter of pride and reputation, not let something like this mess to have my name on it.

great collection of songs. awesome compilation with some live accustic versions at the end. i got the vinyl edition, and was pleasantly suprised to see that it came as green vinyl instead of the traditional black.

Good tunes

Is not a must have i will say, but is a solid cd with mixes of some of their previous albums, it has some good songs, and is good to listen every now and then, if you haven't heard the band this is a good cd to check out that way you can have an idea of how they are, if you are a fan you already know what you are getting.

WOW! Zakk Wylde is a true connoisseur of that which is hard rocking, in your face, raw and yet refined electric guitar. This is the man who helped make OZZY who he is today and then went on to make some terrific albums himself. Skullage is an excellent compilation of Black Label Society's best albums. Sit back, relax and prepare to watch you socks get blown off your feet. Hard in your face music but clear enough to enjoy the words on the song and accompanied by some fantastic electric guitar riffs.
