Batteryshackle (Dual Group 24 Batteries

After purchasing a new travel trailer, I was concerned with how to secure the dual batteries and keep them from being stolen. In researching the subject I came across this battery shackle and decided to give it a try. I watched the installation video and read the reviews. My biggest concern was the fact that I had a large double battery box rather than the two singles depicted in the video. One of the reviews indicated that the battery box could probably be altered to allow the cross bar to be inserted which is critical to the installation. I decided to give it a try. In the video, it is installed in 30 seconds. Keep in mind that this installation is for two separate battery boxes. My installation took considerably longer. I had to use a utility knife to cut slots in the side of the plastic battery box in order to slide the center bar through. This proved to be a difficult task in that with the lid on the box, and the battery shackle in place, it was hard to find the exact location to make the cuts. With a lot of perseverance, I finally got the job done. If you have the two separate boxes, installation is a snap. If your situation is similar to mine, it's much more difficult, but not impossible. Once installed however, it certainly provides the additional security I was looking for.

Bought this for my 2021 30’ travel trailer. Have 2 batteries on the trailer in the 24 size group.Bracket went in exactly as described and took less than 15 minutes to install by myself.It is designed to require a bit of pressure to pull the bottom sides together when placing the top bracket but that actually makes it a better fit in my opinion. Also makes it easier to do if installing by yourself.Absolutely provided the kind of security I wanted and needed and, now, I can forget about my batteries being stolen while in storage.Thanks for a great product. I highly recommend it.

Recently I donated (stolen) one of my two RV batteries to a thief as a result of not securing my batteries well enough. My error. So I purchased this product and purchased two more upgraded RV lead acid batteries. When the product arrived (no problems with shipping nor any usually delays, thank you) I noticed the locks that came with the Shackle were sub standard. Really my only complaint is the unusually low quality of the locks provided. So noticeable in fact I ordered my own that were also keyed alike and used a shielded shackle themselves which was a significant upgrade from the unshielded shackle the Battery Shackle business provided. {[ZARKER J45S] keyed Alike Padlocks -Stainless Steel Shackle Lock, storages, Outdoor Warehouses, Vehicles Outside, or etc, Suitable for Places Have Bad Condition of Weather - (Pack of 4- Keyed Alike)}. I recommend this product but would ask the seller to consider supplying the upgraded to shielded shackle locks (keyed alike) or at least provide a discount to buy your own or upsell the locks as an upgrade. So three options: without locks, with shielded locks. Please do not dilute your fine product with a shoddy substandard security non-shackled lock .

Order arrived much sooner than expected. One piece was nicely wrapped, other pieces not and had several chips on the great enamel paint job. Touched up with some black/primer paint. The 3 holes in the side pieces were large enough to accommodate most any padlock; however, the short bar that fits thru the 2 battery cases I had to drill bigger. I read about the provided, keyed locks rusting so took one persons advice and purchased 3 Delswin steel shackles. Also, don't have to look for more keys. Extremely easy to install. Since we keep our 192 R-Pod at an outside storage facility, feel much more comfortable knowing my 2 batteries are secured. A must purchase! Good job.

I got it to fit after a few modifications and using a piece of plywood as a filler. I'm not convinced it will last long. The metal is soft and easy to drill, cut or bend, good as I had to modify it, bad as I don't think it would take long to remove by a determined thief. The paint job is terrible and was already scratched when I unpacked it and due to the way it slots together, gets scratched up very easily. It's already going rusty, I'll have to repaint it. The padlocks supplied are very cheap, had to replace them. It's not worth the amount charged IMO, it should be no more than $50. I'll use it for my lead acid batteries as I'll take a chance on it being a deterrent when in storage. I wouldn't trust it with more expensive batteries, I'll have to find another solution when I upgrade. One of my worst camper purchases.

To be honest I was a little apprehensive to make the purchase. In fact, I was thinking about making my own anti theft holder. However, many of the homemade YouTube links look very risky-dink. As you know batteries can be very expensive, so I decided to not to cut corners by making my own. After seeing how it arrived where it was packaged well, easy instructions and most all its high qulity. Nothing was missed it was well made and I even got quality Master locks included. It took me about 5 minutes to install it, it fit like a glove as you can see in the photo. I placed the basic straps around the batteries, but also included the rachet tie down over the entire setup. I didn't need them, but rather than store them in my garage I attached them. This was definitely a great buy for the investment I have in my trailer.

This did not fit over the two batteries on the front of my travel trailer. I will have to do extensive modifications.

After having items stolen from my travel trailer, I needed to step up the security of everything that is easily removable from my trailer (batteries, propane tanks, spare tire, etc.). For locking the battery, I went with Battery Shackle. It was easy to install and seems to be very solid. Buying this is cheaper than replacing a couple stolen batteries. Customer service is excellent. I had a minor issue and called the phone number that is on the sheet included with the battery guard. The phone was answered by the company owner and a replacement part arrived at my house three days later. Great product and service!
