It HITS!
This dead blow hammer is much heavier than I had anticipated. It actually is perfect for banging on car parts to break them free. Good quality, rubberized grip!

Great ball peen hammer
Great value for the money. It's all one solid piece of (I assume forged) steel with a nice thick rubber grip. I've been using it almost daily in a mechanic shop for close to a year and despite having bigger hammers I've delivered some very hard hits with it when dis-assembling stuck suspension components, etc. I haven't had a single issue with it. 100% satisfied!

Head weighted closer to 40oz + & hammer swings as such. Decent quality & price though.

Quality ball peen hammer
I bought this to complete some suspension work on my landcruiser as well as a good addition to the tool aresenal. Great weight and balance, so far it had withstood some abuse. We will see how it goes long term, if it fails I will update.

NOT a dead blow hammer, just a hammer
NOT a dead blow hammer, just a hammer. I’m disappointed there’s no shifting weight inside, just a solid rubber core. It’s a decent hammer, just not what it’s advertised as. And as others have said, the grip is pretty thin.

Great Deadblow For Automotive Work
This is a great deadblow hammer for automotive work. Having read the reviews, I was leery; having purchased it and used it, I am happy to report the following: 1. It IS in fact a deadblow hammer, whether you can hear lead shot moving around inside of it or not. It won't feel like a plastic deadblow hammer because that steel is going to want to jump when it hits steel, but it does in fact work to mitigate that. 2. The metal face is in fact quite sturdy; note the photo of mine, after having used it to beat GM steering knuckles and a factory staked lower ball joint like a rented mule. (Successfully.) 3. This hammer is meant for STRIKING METAL OBJECTS, such as will be found in automotive work, or other machinery that needs to be separated, etc. No, it is not awesome for hitting nails, as that is not what it is made for. Although you could do that if you had to. 4. I fix our vehicles at home. You can spend 70 - 100.00 or more for this type of deadblow hammer with a famous name, or for a little more than a fancy coffee like the city folks buy, own this. Boys, if you can replace the front end on a truck with this hammer, you know it works fine. Maybe some folks are getting a poor quality specimen; no idea what QC is like in that factory. Mine is just fine.

For the price and looks its extremely good, gets the job done and feels great in the hand, grip isn't the greatest but other than that it does a great job

A good inexpensive hammer that can make most jobs done with a comfortable handle.

First of all, this is NOT a dead blow hammer. When shaking it, it feels like a solid mass with NO movement inside, and when hitting against another hammer of similar weight it bounces back like crazy. Second, the steel is incredibly soft. Again, hitting against another hammer, it dents VERY easily, while the other hammer shows zero marks. So, you're really getting a chunk of mild steel welded to a piece of pipe and coated in plastic. Quality is also pretty shoddy, my hammer came with some blobs of steel stuck to it (weld spatter?). I give it two stars because it's still a chunk of steel with a handle so you could theoretically use it, but why would you?
