Good quality "German designed" QWYEURO Infrared Motion Sensor for switching lighting. Unfortunately the device is not in any convincing way anything like waterproof. The device was installed under the overhang of a slim porch cover, however on the first encounter with rain, the sensor showed signs of water ingress (residue on the inside of the sensor diffuser), and failed shortly thereafter on a second encounter with rain. The sensor was disassembled to investigate the disastrous performance, and it was found that the only seal in the entire device was the gland at the cable entry point, with no other protective coverings or other barriers. If the device is to be installed we'll away from any likely water source it should perform well (before the rain the device did it's job excellently). I must however state that the customer service was brilliant: a brief explanation of what had happened, and the issue was resolved, no need to send the defunct device back, the invoice was refunded in full without any fuss. Would certainly buy the same branded products again for another project.

I have one of these in my shed, greenhouse, and separate garage to turn on the lights automatically when I go in. It saves having to switch the light on and off if hands full / wet and is a good security feature if someone breaks in at night as the lights coming on may deter them. Fixing the mains cable into them can be a bit of a faff as there is not much room if you want side entry. They have worked fine and are easy to set up in terms of when the sensor starts working (how dark it is) and the length of time they are on for. One did possible save the life of a cat which had sneaked into my shed. It was only because it set the light off that night when we came home late that we knew something was in there. It had been in there for about a day and was incredibly grateful to be released.

Easy to fit and works well

Installation:Not a problem at all, I used my own screws so I can’t speak on the included ones quality. Went onto the wall without any issues. Very simple design.Wiring:Has a very clear diagram on the inside plastic that shows how you should wire it. All the terminals are labelled clearly, with current direction arrows. No issues.Setup:This is where we lose stars. You can only customise:- The duration the light stays on (5 seconds to 5 minutes)- How dark it is outside before the light comes on when it detects motion (referred to as lux).You cannot customise the sensitivity, and judging by the other reviews it’s a lucky dip whether you get it too sensitive or not sensitive enough.Mine happens to be not sensitive enough. I wanted the light to come on when people walk past the property so they can’t loiter there, but it actually only comes on when you get half way across the garden (2 meters from the door).The packaging states a 25 meter range but perhaps that’s only in winter when there will be a higher contrast between human heat and the cold ground surrounding.The other 2 settings seem to work perfectly, no issues there.The actual control knobs are fine, though they are quite small and can be a little tough to turn if you have chubby fingers. There’s no option to turn them using a screw driver. They also don’t have any markings (e.g. turn to here for 1 min, 2 min 5 min etc) so you just have to guess.It’s worth noting that once the light is triggered, you cannot change the duration it will turn off after until it’s off again (perhaps this is a security feature?):So if the duration is set to 5 minutes and you trigger it, but then you turn the knob down to 5 seconds, it will still wait the full 5 minutes before it turns off again. You’ll have to turn it on and off again for it to reset (noticed this during testing once it was installed).I’m going to leave it up because it’s installed now, and it does the job, perhaps it’s better that it’s not constantly turning on and off. We’ll see.I would have liked a sensitivity slider though. Most PIR sensor components come with them built in so there’s no reason not to other than cutting costs.

I replaced my old unit with this one, it is let into a hole in the wall, so I made a wooden frame to hold it in place. As a previous reviewer said "It is best to fit the wires into a terminal block, and then wire into the unit."There is very little room to fit all the cables direct into the unit. Also I found I had to rotate the head fully down or it keeps switching itself on . Takes 24 hours to be in fully working order. I am very satisfied with this unit. Ron.

He comprado ese detector de movimiento para encender la luz del garaje. El fácil de coloca y de ponerle el tiempo de duración y la luz necesaria para no encenderse. Con un poco de prueba y error es fácil colocarla en los parámetros que necesito.

Leicht auch als Laie zu montieren. Bei der Probeeinstellung am Tag, habe ich festgestellt, dass man nur etwa fünfmal versuchen kann. Dann reagiert er nicht mehr. Man muss man den Bewegungsmelder vom Strom nehmen, um wieder in die Grundeinstellung zu kommen. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist gut.

Me gusta por lo económico que es y substituye a unos que hace 5 años que compre porque es el mismo modelo unos sensores que con los años se han averiado por la carga demandada, la parte del rele.
