We had bed bugs and went through a number of mattress covers before finding some that fit our twin box springs. The cases designed for twin mattresses were all too small. They fit our twin mattress box springs with no problem. They have more stretch in them than the others that we tried and seem more durable. If I had to do it over again, I would have bought this brand for our King-Size mattress as well. We paid an arm and a leg for it at Bed Bath and Beyond. I would recommend this companies products for any one trying to control bed bugs. We cured our bed bug problem by spreading diatomaceous earth around the room to keep them in the bedroom and all around the edge of the bed - emphasizing the base of the bedframe. I slept in the bed because I do not react to their bites like my wife does. I laid a sheet on the top of the mattress cover and rolled up the edges and then put a layer of diatomaceous earth (organic D.E. from Amazon to avoid the silicates in pool-grade diatomaceous earth, purchased at Home Depot)at the edges of the sheet so they had to crawl over diatomaceous earth to get to me. We used standard diatomaceous earth on the floor. I washed the sheets in hot water every morning as soon as I got up. It was a dusty mess for 6-7 weeks but we could track the number of bed bugs decreasing until they finally stopped. I kept up the routine for a couple of more weeks and we finally backed off. We purchased Beddy Bug bait(VCM products, sold by Amazon) to see if we saw any more bed bugs and we haven't seen any since.

Needed a quality box spring encasement to protect myself and bed from bedbugs migrating through walls in our highrise condo building. The Saferest encasement arrived quickly, and I'm glad I shopped it through Amazon instead of getting a cheaper yet flimsy plastic encasement of the sort carried by retail and hardware big box stores. This encasement is made of a durable fabric with very fine, bug proof mesh, and a convenient 360 degree zipper configuration. It's machine washable and driable, lab certified, and comes with a ten-year warranty. It enables you to keep a usable box spring if the bugs have entered your space by sealing them within the encasement. If your trying to protect yourself from an attack, the encasement keeps invading pests from setting up residence in your box spring, both of which scenarios protect you from bites and an escalating infestation scenario. If you suspect bedbugs [observe bites received while sleeping], you must act fast to keep them from taking over your entire space. They simply cannot be killed by spraying your box spring because they have five life stages and instinctively find remote places to hide in your space until the spraying goes away, then they migrate back to your mattress and boxspring to feed on your blood at night. This encasement will seal them in and out of your boxspring giving you time to deep clean their juvenile phases throughout your living space while the adults eventually starve inside the encasement. This takes months, so don't open it up for cleaning unless you want the trapped adults to escape. They can supposedly go for year without eating, so beware. These things have evolved very sophisticated survival skills, and they've had a parasitic relationship with humans for millions of years. The ban on DDT, along with increases in international travel has brought about a US epidemic of these vermin, so do not underestimate them. Get the SafeRest encasements today and get some rest.

After comparing different brands, and reading LOTS of reviews, I bought the SafeRest mattress encasement and the box springs encasement together. My biggest worry was that several reviews said that the zipper or material broke during installation, but after opening the package and inspecting the products, I felt pretty secure. The installation was very easy on the mattress, and just a little more challenging on the box springs, but I got them both on in about 10 - 15 minutes working solo. The whole point of the encasements being to keep bedbugs in (or out if used in prevention), once the zipper is closed air flow is somewhat restricted ( but not entirely), so you'll want to work most of the air out before fully closing the zipper. That will help reduce pressure on the seams and zipper.Others have complain of a "crinkly" noise from the waterproof inner lining, but either that problem has been resolved, or those people have very sensitive hearing. If you listen very closely, you can hear a little bit of noise, but otherwise it's quite quiet. Also, people have complained here about the durability of the products , how they didn't hold up after "only X number of washings". That may or may not be true, but in that the encasements need to stay on , continuously, for at least a year to be effective against bedbugs, I may never know. The directions included said that washing prior to use might be necessary because of odor from manufacturing, but it passed the nose test with me, so I put it on straight out of the package. Finally, and most important to me, I haven't seen any bedbugs on the bed since I put it on.I used some climb up interceptors to isolate the bed from the floor to keep new bugs from climbing up, and the encasements have trapped the others inside. I highly recommend this brand and these products.

I have kept a cover on my mattress since the day it was purchased and delivered. I would recommend them for lots of reasons. I do lots of checking when purchasing and thought this one for the price and quality would meet my needs.
