Women's St. Elias Fg GTX Hiking Boot

If you need a roomy toe box these are your boots!
Great boots, they look sharp and they're comfortable right out of the box. I tend to have a problem where my toes are very sensitive to pressure from a boot or to pressing into the front or top of a boot - and going up in size tends to make the problem worse because my foot slides around and jams into the front of the boot - leather boots tend to have this problem to a great degree for me and I use leather boots for yardwork because they hold up to shovel digging & other work and they don't get sopping wet from wet grass or mud. These Vasque boots have a very roomy toe box and at the same time fit snuggly (not tight - snug) around the rest of my foot - so your foot doesn't slide side to side or forward, the toe area doesn't press down anywhere. And these boots look sharp - in fact it was hard to wear them out in the garden the first time because I knew they were going to be subjected to digging, lawn mowing etc. Then I realized that the price was so good I could buy another pair for non-messy work...so that's what I'm about to do!! Vasque is a great boot company!

Me encantan pero Rechinan
Estas botas son muy bonitas, resistentes, cómodas, impermeables y me gustaron mucho. Solamente que no me gusta que rechinan muchísimo al caminar, es un problema si te dedicas a observar aves o a la cacería.

It isn't wide.
No, not wide. Not at all. I have bunions, so I look for wide fit boots (really really difficult!).I need at D-E wide boot at least. This does NOT fit that description. I've purchased a shoe/boot stretcher, though that hasn't helped too much either (still trying to figure that out).It does keep feet dry. It is very stiff, so it will take time to break in (don't go straight out hiking in these until you've broken them in).

No break-in is a MYTH. Boots are quite nice
These boots absolutely change and for me became significantly more comfortable after the first 6 miles and even more so after the 12+ mile trip. They do get hot and have no ventilation, they were fine with decent thin hiking socks in 50-70degF weather.Even after break-in they are stiff and supportive. I was looking for ankle support to help deal with extra weight of backpacking these did the trick. Definitely seem like a boot that could cost twice as much.I mostly wear womens 8.5 sometimes 9. The 8.5 in these fit perfect (enough room to spare for steep hills).
