Q: Can you purchase this product without the cups?

No, it is a packaged deal. We don’t use the cups; but the set is with it regardless!!! Love these dishes!!

Q: When using silverware does it scratch. If I use a knife to cut meat does the inside scratch?

So far we haven't noticed any scratches or other blemishes, but, three coffee cups have cracked from the hot coffee/tea.
