I've found a few old straight razors in thrift shops and at yard sales over the years, but I always wanted a new one that I'd be willing to drag across my face. This one looked like it was a good buy, and not so expensive that my disappointment would leave me sobbing into my shaving cream.The blade feels good, the handle is much sturdier than the few antique straight razors I have, it has a pleasing heft to it, and it holds a nice edge. No complaints, well satisfied.

Holds an edge like a champ. Classy damn blade. Shave your face and then slit some throats without ever having to worry about her dulling. Hel, use the blood for shaving cream. This razor is perfect.

It looks lovely. It's heavy but I like that. It was not shave ready. As sharp as a pocket knife maybe. I sharpened and honed it starting at 1000 grit, then 8k, then 12, and finished on a coticule stone with almost no pressure, then stropped. I got a nice, close shave but I think a pro could get it a bit sharper. It costs about $30 to send a razor to be sharpened but I think it's still a good deal when you add that on. As some people mentioned the blade can shift off center between the scales so you have to make sure it's centered before you close it. That's what cost it the fifth star.

I see this is currently unavailable hope it comes back. So far this is the best straight I have found under $40. Mine was crafted with very reasonable quality. stays sharp with out fuss. Love the shape of the blade, full hollow with a nice rounded notch nothing too extreme. Great daily driver.

I disliked that it can't shave. That just really sucks. I was excited. Well, i suppose looking back it doesn't say shave ready. I used my strop on it for hours. I put it on a stone to see it doesn't seem sharpened evenly. On both sides its honed unevenly like they tipped it on its side and didn't care to keep it flat. When you lay it on the stone i realized it may need rehoned. I regret buying this. I wanted a blade to shave with but honestly screw it. At this point I'm questioning online shopping. Its such a gamble.

Great looks beautiful, works great I been using knives for years and this one great price and nice and sharp.

This blade rusts so easily and then you cant use it. Id say invest in a higher quality blade

Box was cheap. Tin case slightly dented. Oh well, keep going. Took it right out of plastic wrapper to dry check. Beautiful right from the get go. And I’m sure I can get it even sharper. I’m SO pleased. Made my dayMike
